Hi ladies
Nice to see some 40 something ladies out there! I have been working out for 20 years and only have about 11 pounds to lose. I'd like to get more toned and build muscle more than pay attention to that stupid scale!
I'm half way through the 30 day shred with Jillian Michaels and started P90X lean today.(yes I'm doing them a the same time) Was wondering if any of you ladies are doing this type of program? I want to do the muscle building block of P90X after this to put some more muscle and get rid of this fat ring around my waist that I've had for years even when I'm 130!! I have always hated doing abs with a passion and it shows. So.... time to bite the bullet and do lots of abs/core work!!
Feel free to add me, i always love having lots of supportive friends my own age

I think it is awesome that you have been such an avid exerciser all these years. I am at the opposite end of that spectrum. Work 40 hours a week at a desk job and until recently (April) did no type of formal exercising. My wake up call came when I realized that if I am going to keep up with my 4 year old, I will have to get off my butt and start doing some exercising. I also want to be a better role model for my daughter both in exercise and meal planning.
I will have to say, this is the hardest thing I have ever done. I am not good at sticking with things and it becomes a real challenge to stay motivated. I have a couple of ladies that I meet at the gym when our schedules allow, but mostly, it is up to me to motivate myself to get there. Some days are easier than others.
Hopefully, joining a group will give me some extra support to help keep me motivated. After all, winter will be here in no time and I don't want to gain any more pounds over the holidays.0 -
I am a teaching so I totally understand what you mean when you say it's difficult to stay motivated and energized.. it's weird tho.. at the times in my life that I've spend a couple of hours a day working out are the times that I have the most energy.. I always try to remember one of the laws of physics.. Objects at rest tend to stay at rest.. objects in motion tend to stay in motion.. I think that holds true for us as well0
