Just wondering if everyone's going to follow the recommended diet that came with the workout or do their own thing and just try to stay under their calorie goals? I've never done this program, but my hubby has. He followed the plan and lost/toned up alot. For those that have started/finished........what worked best to help lose weight and tone up? Thanks

Hello! Well I wish I could follow the diet plan but I have to cook for the family and I work I would hate to have to make my own food
as well. But i did look over the recipes and I will do some of the things like the breakfast (oatmeal eggs etc) or snacks for the dinner I can't do it for sure so I will just track my food and stick to my calorie goals and watch what I eat and cook. I cook pretty healthy so it shouldn't be a problem. Who cooked/made the food for your husband when he followed the diet plan?? If you did, did you make enough for the whole family or did you have to make his separately?0 -
My hubby followed the diet plan. He'd recalculate if he thought he needed less or more. We still ate other recipes from before he started too. He did all the cooking up until last october when I became a full time mom/wife. And I was pregnant while he did it and when I was pregnant with all 4 he made me breakfast before we left for work, packed my lunch the night before, and always had a good dinner for me. He's good to me like that when I'm pregnant....secretly think he was afraid I'd fill up on hospital caffeteria food and junk from the coffee bars! He just stayed really diligent with measuring everything and trying not to go over 2000 calories. If he was hungry he'd eat but we don't have too many "good" things to eat in the house so it was usually some sort of produce or a protein shake/bar. In the last year though so much has happened that we got off track healthy eating and exercise wise. Our kids LOVED eating all the fast food and conveniant food we bought though......but these last 2 months of preparing healthier dinners again they've been happy and get excited when we have anything home cooked. Might try to just incorporate some of the meal options into my day while following my calorie goals on mfp.0

Wow! That's awesome that your husband did that. The only time I have ever seen or had my husband's cooking was when I was pregnant with our son too! It was mostly during my morning sickness months when I couldn't keep anything down and he'd feel bad and would cook since I had no energy to do anything but run to the toilet:sick: I would feel bad when he would take his time trying to make the food taste so good and my sickness wouldnt let me keep it in
so this is something that's going to be well it already has been hard for me to do. I am hispanic. I cook pretty healthy because most of the mexican brazilian dishes have lots of veggies and such. But it sucks for me bc I cant log that into my food diarys on here bc how can i without having to add every single little spice, condiment, meat, veggies, beans, etc ?????
the only thing i could and have done before is type the name of the food and click on one from a restaurant but I hate doing that bc technically thats not what and where i ate so i don;t know what they put (could be things with more fat, sodium, ect)
it seems like its easier for me to log my food if i eat cereals, frozen or canned dinners etc. what should i do?0 -
yeah, sometimes I don't care for the data base. stir fry is impossible to get right or when my hubby makes roasted veggies. I try to guess but it's a pain and tedious when entering them all in.lol.0

Yes! It is! I am on the same boat. I wish it was easier but for now all we could do is it what we know is healthy. I'm just going to stay away strictly to anything fried and frozen as well as anything else I can use common sense to unhealthy. That's all we can do. Shouldn't be that hard. Going to pick up some produce in a few days to start October 1st right!!0 -
we're going shopping this friday or saturday too! it's our normal weekend thing but we're cutting out some things we normally buy. feel a little excited that it's almost time to start! lol0

I don't have time to follow the diet plan. So I do what I can by eating Cheerios . Also, I make my own frozen meals. It's easy to make a big batch of something and then divide it up and off it goes to the fridge. Grill a big batch of chicken, cut it into 4 oz. pieces, freeze. Or my favorite...mac n cheese. I Used skim milk and low fat cheese and baked it in muffin tins. Each muffin is about 160 calories. They freeze beautifully
From how i understand it, the meal plan is to teach you portion control. What can be more controlled than a muffin size portion of mac n cheese....yum!0 -
