Didn't go to bad. accomplished it easily. The iphone app I chose is kind of lame though. The one from Zen Labs is just a glorified timer. It doesn't work if you lock the screen. If you don't lock the screen, then it is easy to accidentally bring up the settings which pauses the program. Basically have to run holding the phone unlocked in my had without touching the screen. Any one know of a better one?

I am using the NHS C25k podcasts which are free and work great on my iPhone. I also use a separate Wahoo fitness app and HRM to record heart rate, distance, pace etc and upload the workout sessions to Garmin Connect website so I can keep track of my progress.

I don't have that problem with the ZenLabs app on my iPhone. I've used it on 3GS and 4S. Make sure the app and your iOS software is updated. I do find that it works a bit smoother when the ZenLabs app is the active app, but I've never had an issue with it not working when the phone is locked. I usually have the MapMyRun app in the background.

Good job on getting started. Hopefully you'll get the quirks worked out soon.

I don't have that problem with the ZenLabs app on my iPhone either. Maybe make sure you have the latest update?

I paid 2 bucks for the c25k app from active.com and it was worth it. The distance estimation is relatively accurate, and I like that it works with my existing playlists.

Thanks All, think i found my issue. I had the mute switch flipped. Doh! Odd that it worked if the screen was unlocked. Guess I'll get to try again on Wednesday!
