Sleeping

I didn't sleep very well last night. Wide awake and up several times. Maybe I drank too much water or maybe my body is just starting to realize that I didn't feed it junk all day. For people that have done this before or started paleo lifestyle, when does sleep get better?

I think Sunday night was something not diet related. Myself and several other people I know basically could not sleep for some reason Sunday night. I think there was an atmospheric change or something that affected a lot of people. I know this isn't what you were asking, but thought I'd put it out there.

Interesting...yeah, Sunday was a full moon I think... I haven't been sleeping as well either... and getting up to use the bathroom a lot - if I didn't know any better I'd think I was pregnant (I'm definitely not lol). Not sure what it is but hope it passes. We are in that phase where the carb flu, etc., hits so this could be related. Last time I definitely felt I slept better, but it was more during the second half... not sure if this helps but you are not alone with some insominia!

During the first few days of my 3rd Whole30 attempt, I slept awful. I'd say it gets better within the first week or so. I slept like a baby last night. I didn't want to leave my bed this morning, but I woke up without any problems either. Your body will get used to it. Just stick it out and take it day by day.
  • It was better last night. I only got up once and was able to get back to sleep after reading for a bit.

My sleep was awful last night. Was in bed by 12 and even with the lights off and trying to fall asleep, I was lying there until probably 2:30 trying to sleep. Then I was waking up all night, tossing and turning, and had an awful, horrible nightmare that woke me up and I was terrified to go back to sleep. Fml. Hopefully this gets better!

I slept horrible last night too. It took me forever to get to sleep and then I keep waking up, then I had a horrible nightmare and woke up at 6ish so just decided to stay awake.
  • Sometimes Melatonin help to fall asleep, but then I always have trouble staying asleep.

Some magnesium an hour or so before bed is supposed to help. My psych prescribed me some... I'm not sure if its helping or not... I'm so exhausted I fall right to sleep.
