I like nothing better than a good mystery. Have you read any good mystery books lately? I want to expand beyond the usual mysteries !

Yes, I love Irish author Tana French who writes about the Dublin Murder Squad.Unlike many popular mystery series in which the same dectective is featured time and again, she shakes things up with each book , promoting a previous supporting character to the lead role. She has written 4 books. It is best to read them in order

This is my group. I love mysteries. Who are you favorite authors? I am looking for new ones too. I am reading Burning Time by Leslie Glass it is the first in a series. I read the later ones. I have started the new Anne Perry, and have the new MC Beaton Agatha Raisin. I just finished Creole Belle by James Lee Burke. He is one of my favorite authors. Through his beautiful descriptive use of words I have traveled to New Iberia and New Orleans. I did get J K Rowlings new adult book and I am 40 pages in and do not like it. Oh, I work in a library and belong to 2 book clubs:ohwell:

Agatha Raisin is my favorite. OMG! Do you remember the time she dyed her hair. I laugh so hard when I read her. Hammish McBeth is good also.I have not read Creole Belle but will check it out. I am reading the new Joseph Wambaugh Harbour Nocturne and am bored to tears. I hope it gets better. Some of it it good but the plot is not so good. I love mysteries but I do read other books. I like Susan Mallery alot.

I am going to check out James Lee Burke. Might be a good choice for my book club.

I'm not that big into mysteries but I do love the Kensie/Gennaro series by Dennis Lehane and the Dexter series. Dennis Lehane really knows how to throw a twist.

You are so right! His book, Shutter Island, is one of the best books I've read.
