Any Advice?

I'm supposed to be getting about 66g of protein daily. I'm only getting about half of that. I looked at WalMart for protein shakes and powders, but they are all too expensive for me to buy. Now, I have to be careful not to get too much protein because I only have one kidney. But this is ridicuolous! I need to figure out a way to at least get enough! Anyone out there have any advice?

66g is not that high, it is only 264 calories from protein! I wouldn't have thought you would need protein shakes for that level of protein.
I try and get 30% of my calories from protein and I limit my calories to 1400. This equates to 105g a day of protein.
I get my protein from eggs, fish (I love Tuna and salmon), lean meats and my go-to protein source cottage cheese (low fat). Its surprising what amounts of protein are in milk, baked beans and yoghurt, so before I know it I am at or close to 105g for the day.
For example breakfast is usually my lowest protein meal of the day, one Oatibix, half a banana, some blueberries and semi skimmed milk,. Then half a wholemeal pitta bread and a few slices of thinly sliced turkey/ ham. Doesn't sound much but in total 19g of protein and that is my smallest amount of protein in a meal.
I cannot see your food diary so cannot see what you are eating.
I think my food diary is open, take a look at where I get my protein.0 -
Eggs are great. If you are trying to avoid more cals and fat even egg whites are good. I just eat whole eggs though. Tuna and other fish is low cal and high protein. I eat a lot of meat but I'm a meat eater anyway. Greek yog, PB, cheese (swiss and mozz aren't too high cal or fat). Nuts have good fats and some protein. Quinoa has some protein and is whole grain. Beans are high fiber and along with a whole grain make a complete protein. For some people it can raise BG, others do fine.0

Almost everything I eat has some protein. Check your food diary. You may be getting more protein than you think.0
