Welcome to the Type 2 Diabetes Support Group! Hi, my name is Bob. I'm living a happy, healthy and complication free lifestyle since my T2 diagnosis in 1982. I'm treating my T2D condition with Lantus long acting insulin, Metformin 2x/day, along with Novolog mealtime insulin to cover my mealtime carbohydrates. It's…
Hi there, Type 2 Diabetes Support Group! :drinker: The following is a list of online diabetic communities I've found to be very educational, beneficial and helpful over the years towards my diabetes self-care goals. Each site is unique and beneficial, packed with invaluable information for those new to diabetes, in…
Hello! I work for MyFitnessPal on our community team and am reaching out to various group leaders to get feedback. I noticed the group leaders for this group are no longer active. Is there anyone in this group who would like to take over leadership here? Please send me a private message. Thank you!

I just found out in February of this year I have T2. My doctor has been of no real help. She told me I need to go on a diabetic diet and that I was only allowed 1500-1800 calories a day. That’s it. Oh and she put me on metformi. I take two in the morning and two at night. I found this app from a group of friends. Because…
I have an A1C of 14 and need help in getting it down. Any suggestions. Today I cut out bread and drink water. I've also been doing the Caroline Jordan 10 minute workout everyday, but these area low impact exercises so I'm not sure if they are doing anything. I am 30 so I think I still have some time left to improve. Is…
Last Dr.'s appointment, my doctor lowered my insulin ratio. So, I thought YAY. My sensors kept acting up though. They kept losing the signal and wouldn't scan. When I called ABBOTT for help, it turns out the sensors aren't compatible with Apple Iphone 7. Something must have changed when I updated the software. Sooo, they…
Is fasting bad for people with diabetes? Or maybe just one meal a day— is that harmful?
Trying to get my A1C down to 6. I'm currently at 7.4 and was just put on Farxiga. I've been T2 since 2013 and it's been a struggle for me. I was on Mounjaro for 7 months and felt fantastic, A1C was 5.3 then it messed with my pancreas so bad that I can't do any GLP meds. It's been over a year since I've been off it and now…
As some of you know, I am a junk food junkie. I would rather have a bag of chips and chocolate bar than a turkey dinner. I have a hard time passing by the chip aisle in the stores. I will admit it's been hard so far, but it's getting easier. But, it is now day 3 that I haven't had any of that stuff. It never made it into…
Staying the course with my carbs. It is a challenge. Had houseguests and so I have a fridge full of options for them...
Hi! I'm Kim and I've had very well controlled type 2 diabetes for a few years, but now my A1C is too high so I'm starting a journey to lose weight and get healthy! I would love to swap some recipes and make some friends who get it!
Hope you folks are doing well.
Last checkup with my doctor in December, she changed the ratio of my insulin from 1unit to 15 carbs, to 1unit to 120 carbs. That was because I was having a lot of lows. So, 2 months into it, my meal time numbers are a little higher than I like. I'm not getting lows, so I guess it's working. I guess I'll see how my next A1C…
