no cheats the first few weeks! that makes it hard! also i would eliminate fruits/sweet potatoes the first few weeks and then add them back in gradually. clean out the pantry and get stuff that may be tempting out of the way, and rock it!!0

If you buy one cookbook... I highly recommend Well Fed. Mark Sisson's Blueprint cookbook is good to for lots of recipes 30 min and under.
The first couple of weeks are hard. After that, it's easy peasy. Just make sure you always have something healthy lined up for meals and snacks.0 -
I have to second the "no cheats" advice. I'm basically restarting again because I allowed myself too many slips so I never got the full benefits of clearing out my system.
Also just hang in there! After the first week or two it may feel like you want to give in because you hit a patch where you're tired and foggy and almost like you have a head cold without the congestion... But if you push through it a few days later you're going to feel better than you have in a long time. One other thing that I find very helpful is using one of my days off as a cooking day; where I cook a few dishes and prep some other crock pot meals to put in the freezer for later in the week. That way when I run out of lunches I can throw one of the prepped meals in the crock pot before I leave for work and food will be ready when I get home.0 -
I am new to this too - I just finished my first Whole 30, and would totally recommend it to anyone just starting. I feel like it gave me a reboot - got rid of all the "junk" I'd been eating and by the end of the 30 days, I felt ready to fully commit!0
