Endocrinologists are VERY busy. The first appointment usually takes 2-3 months in San Francisco, CA. This will differ depending on where you live. I suggest you call the office to make sure the referral was not lost (this happens). You can also ask to be put on a list for last minute appointments as some people can not keep appointments at the last minute.

I was lucky enough to be able to schedule an appointment with an endo at Johns Hopkins within a month. Not sure if that's the norm.
  • I originally got an appointment for a month later, but I told them to call me if there was any cancellations. This helped me be seen within a few weeks.

when you go to the endocrinologist you can ask off of the questions about blood tests, etc. Medical doctors are really at a loss when caring for thyroids, though they think they are fine. NOT. Good luck with your appointment.

thx. i was wondering about my results this time around as i feel great, my tsh is finally in a good place again but my t3 and t4 are off, especially my t4. i read somewhere that when your t4 goes over the norm you can be now hyper not hypo but yet my tsh is a good level?
