What to do...?

What do you do when it's dark out?
I love running outside but it seems lately by the time I'm home its already getting dark and with the clocks changing in 2 weeks time it's only going to get much worse. I havent managed to get home early enough to go for a run for a whole week now!! Would have had time on Sunday except I went for a long bike-ride and was soooo tired from that. I dont want my running to be limited to weekends only but every time I plan to get up early to run it seems to not happen (I'm NOT a morning person at all...) and in a month or so it'll be dark in the mornings before work too...hate those months when day light seems to only last a few hours!!
Doesnt help that as part of the budget cuts my council have turned off most of the street lights so it's really dark on the streets and I just dont feel safe. Is my only option to join a gym and use the treadmill??
Sorry not much you can suggest just needed to vent really I guess. I'm only on week 6 day 2 but since I've not run for a week I'm wondering if I need to repeat week 5 before continuing... or at least week 6 day 1!!

Hey,
I'm feeling exactly the same. Today I left the house at 5.45, and it was just getting dark when I got back.
Can you change your route at all? I'm going try this I think, as I really don't want to stop or join the gym, can you run with a buddy?

I did my last week or so outside at night and just stuck to the neighborhood. I just kept going round and round. Not so interesting as far as route goes, but it works!0

I'm not a morning person either, but I am lucky that I get home by around 4.30 and can go out for my run then. I am on wk7 which means I am usually out for about 45 minutes. I plan to continue with running outside. I've come this far, and really enjoy getting away from things after busy days in school where I work.
I am hoping to get over to Aldi and buy one of the fluorescent jackets they are due to get in this week. As a driver I realise how invisible pedestrians/runners/cyclists can be. Even if I have to change my route a little so I am on pavements all the time, and in well lit areas, I do hope I can continue running outside.0 -
I carry a small flashlight. Helps me see the dog doodoo, helps others see me, and I can bonk the zombies over the head.
But yea..... I hate this time change. Dark when I leave early a.m. to go to gym. Dark when I come home from work. Boooo0
