I'm entirely too cheap to pay $8-12 EACH after shipping for 1.25# plates. Not when most of the other plates I bought were about $1 a pound.
So instead, I have little 1# D-shaped hand weights that I got for $1 each that'll do the job of gradually increasing my weight on OHP. I can't imaging going up 2 pounds, then 3 pounds next time, is going to be any more difficult than going up 2.5 then 2.5.

That's the other nice thing about lifting at home. It doesn't matter how stupid anything looks. Including me, lifting barefoot or in my bedroom slippers.

Love it! I don't lift at home... Have a decent gym facility available just 2.5 miles from my driveway. But finding the 3 or 4 2.5# plates they have there is often a challenge... it's like people try to hide them or something. I don't think a 1.25# exists there at all!0

haha, That's cute.
I refused as well - what a ridiculous ripoff. I just don't get it.
I bought myself some 2" washers. A little more $ than your $1 weights, but I go to the gym. I think I need to spray paint them - they leave a cruddy residue.0 -
Pink!
I love it.

 They're actually red, but the camera flash made them look pink.0

Very clever. Yes, we spent $50 for our set of fractional plates. I found them on ebay with free shipping. I have 4 sets: 0.5 lb, 1 lb, 1.5 lb, and 2 lb. I totally owe my overhead press number to these plates. Bench, too.0
