Are you tracking your weekly weight losses? If so, from the beginning can you post how much you lost?

Thanks~

I started MFP in Jan 2011 as a New Year's resolution at 185 lbs. By February 19 I was at 175 and for whatever reason, I stopped logging in. 18 months later, July 4 2012, I came back and have been working diligently at this using Medifast. Here are my stats for this time period.

Starting: 7/5/12 191.6 (18.1 lb gain since the last time I logged in)
    Week 1: 7/10/12 185.6 (6 lb loss)
    Week 2: 7/17/12 183.6 (2 lb loss)
    Week 3: 7/24/12 180.0 (3.6 lb loss)
    Week 4: 7/31/12 178.0 (2 lb loss)
    Week 5: 8/7/12 177.0 (1 lb loss)
    Week 6: 8/14/12 179.2 (2.2 lb gain)
    Week 6.5: 8/17/12 174.4 (4.8 lb loss) ~Change weigh-ins to Fridays
    Week 7: 8/24/12 173.0 (1.4 lb loss)
    Week 8: 8/31/12

My goal is 140 lbs. as the military put me at 142 for my maximum weight (for my age and height). If I hit this, it will be the first time in my16 year military career I will make weight.

Awesome! I was just curious to see how many people fall into the 3-5lbs loss per week that MF advertises. From my experience (when I did MF before I got pg with my son) and others, 2-2.5 seems to be the average.

I'm only on week 2.5 and I'm about 3-4 lbs a week. I think week 3 will only be a 1-2 lbs loss.

Medifast actually advertises 2-5lbs a week avg loss;) Also I think counting your month 2 is more accurate for weekly avg because everyone drops that water weight their first week;)

First week back - I lost 10! I'm still shocked as I've never lost that much weight in one week before.

Weighed in this morning (was away over the weekend) - down 2 more for a total of 12 in two weeks!

I seem to be a "party of one" on this board, but that's ok:)

Down 4 more, total of 16!
  • I had a zero week last week. So this week? I am going back to nibbling on fruit. Nothing big, just 10 grapes or half an apple. I was doing that when cherries were in season and losing 2-3 a week. Sigh. I think my problem is I am in the normal range for BMI and my body is a lot less interested in letting go of what is left of stored fat.

    You are doing Great!!
  • I am down 13.2 in 6 weeks. But! I have had alcohol - lifestyle, lots of entertaining in my week and chose to include this even though I will lose slower. I am so happy though with my progress and love how easy it is!
  • Medifast used to advertise "UP TO 2 to 5 pounds" per week. They no longer make this claim because (litigation) proved that people will interpret this many ways. For me, the "up to" jumps out and places these numbers in context as best case scenarios. Regardless of the plan, there are so many individual factors that contribute to what weight loss will be for everyone at any given time. There will be times when people go off plan and still lose weight, and there will be times when people follow the Quick Start Guide parameters and do not lose weight. I find it most useful to measure my success against my own success. That is, I track my weight loss (as well as activity level, sleep, stress, and menstrual cycle) over a period of time and note what is normal for me. When something seems awry, I can go back and look at what things I may have done differently. Sometimes it jumps out (like starting a running program) and other times it's more subtle, such as the fact a 170-pound body that has been on the plan for a year and lost 125 pounds will not lose weight the same as a 296.5 pound body just starting the plan.

Week 1-7 posted above. Septembers numbers:

    Week 8: 08/31/12 168.0 (5.0 lb loss)
    Week 9: 09/07/12 169.0 (1.0 lb gain)
    Week 10: 09/14/12 165.0 (4.0 lb loss)
    Week 11: 09/21/12 163.0 (2.0 lb loss)
    Week 12: 09/28/12 162.2 (0.8 lb loss)

So I am on average of 2.5 per week.

  • I just ordered my first month of Medifast. I'm a 34 yo home schooling mother of 4. Now that I am getting "older" weight doesn't fall off like it used to. And now with my little people (ages 11-4) home with me, I just can't seem to find the mental energy for meal planning, eating often, exercising regularly, blah blah blah. :) MF seems pretty brainless, and it might just be the thing that I need! I hope this works! I look forward to posting weekly losses with you.

Haven't been in this forum in a bit. Just a quick update - 8 weeks, 32 pounds lost! Medifast really DOES work but you have to commit. Some days my commitment is VERY tested, but it's worth the effort.

I hear you about being tested on Medifast but I love the program too! My husband and I have been on it since August 11, 2012 and I have lost 18 pounds but 17 inches! I have been working out a lot lately which kind of throws off the weight loss, but I feel better than I have in many years! For us it is the ease of having everything ready to eat and we don't have to plan our meals because we are just too busy. I still have 20 pounds to lose and will get there but maybe not as fast as I had originally wanted. I am having to buy all new clothes because mine are too big so that is an awesome feeling! Losing 32 pounds in two months is incredibe! Way to go! We can all get through this together!

I started off losing 10 lbs a week when I first started Medifast. That lasted for a few weeks, then it slowed to around 5 lbs a week.

Currently loosing about 2-3 lbs a week. Depends on how badly I go off plan. I eat a lot of mixed nuts and have extra condiments, but I still keep losing and thats fine by me.
