I've been wondering the same thing. I lost 12lbs on this plan a while ago and am trying to get back in gear. I have about 10 lbs. to go.0
-
I just joined the group. I lost 20lbs last year and now am doing the slim happy belly version. I have lost another 6lbs...but I had gained about 3 back from the first time.0
-
What is the slim happy belly version?0
-
Slim Happy Belly version is one that he designed for women 40 and over. We do two days Fast track and five days regular BFC.0

I'll have to pull my book out again. I don't recall what the fast track plan entailed. I've been going back and forth with different hings lately and don't seem to be making any progress. I know that limiting carbs and sugars is the answer for me though.0

IM SO TORN! I have the book(s) and love the concept but am terribly afraid of gaining weight! ive read cases of people gaining 3 pounds a week on this!0
-
I've not heard that. It's basically a low carb plan since the most you could have is 120 carbs and 15 grams of sugar in a day. Not sure why you would gain weight on that. I like it because I can still eat what I like, I just have to account for it. What surprises me is the hidden sugars and carbs. Say for example in cottage cheese - 1 cup of 1% has 6 carbs and 6 gr. of sugar, but it also has 28 gr. of protein.
I'm trying to get refocused on this, while combining it somewhat with Choose to Loose. Not sure how it's going to work, but I like parts of both plans.0 -
Basically, Fast Track was zero carbs. And the regular on was the s/c values of 15/6.0

today is my day 2 so far so good ,,, i had someone tell me that this was like Atkins i explained it wasnt at all since induction on atkins is 20g of carbs and this is 6 SERVINGS have any of you tried atkins0
-
It was a very long time ago that I tried Atkins and I know it has changed quite a bit. Glad you're doing okay with the plan. After totally falling off for a few days, I'm back on track myself. Haven't checked out the Fast Track info yet. Loriaque - thanks for letting me know abut zero carbs. Not sure I can handle that. Even no-fat plain greek yogurt has 7 carbs. That's my 3:00 snack most days at work.0

I have to agree...the fast track days are harder for me. Also, anything under 5 carbs...does not count because it is not enough to affect your body. I don't remember which book explained that.
And I did atkins too! However, I think BFC is a better and healthier way to go.0 -
I'm still here. I love eating this way, and am constantly afraid it's going to "stop working". So far so good, although my weight really fluctuates. It's not like I'm losing consistently every week, I lose a lot, then creep up again, then down, then up, then way down. Etc.
I've been eating this way since May and got blood work done last month. Awesome results!0 -
I have been on BFC and myfitnesspal since August 2011 and lost over 35 pounds - and maintaining current weight. I agree this is a lot better than Atkins and my bloodwork was excellent when done in June 2012.0

Just starting BFC; was doing well in 2011, BP down, CHO down, lost 30+ lbs, then SCRRRREEECHHHH! grinding halt.....we joined a gym and was really getting into shape cardio wise. Had follow-up bloodwork done after the holidays and "Flying ***** Slap!" CHO back up and that is doing 120 + miles on a Espresso bike a month, weights and other cardio machines at the gym at 30-Min intervals. I've been between 236-244 for most of 2012.
So now we are back on MFP and going to use the BFC to get us jump started.....any tips would be greatly appreciated......Thanks0 -
I am glad to see that people are still using this diet. My book is literally in the mail! I have been reading everything I can online while I wait for it. I could lose up 20lbs. but by hubby has much further to go. I have been doing WW on and off since my son was born (17 years ago). The plan has changed so much and it has been a while since I've had any real success with it. I found that I always 'worked" the system by using points for things I should not have had. I think the BFC will be good for my husband and I since it is a little more restrictive. My husband is also mildly wheat intolerant so I think this might settle his tummy issues too. I am starting with the Fast Track plan. Does anyone have experience with this book?0
-
Hello!
I just found this group and am SO EXCITED that it exists! I've done the BFC on and off for several years, but have never stuck to it . Even when I wasn't doing it consistently, I always tried to make conscious choices in regards to sugar and carbs.
I'm happy to know there's a group that's following the BFC.
FYI..... Today is my first day back on the plan. My goal is to shed some pounds (specifically in my belly), exercise regularly and eliminate my high blood pressure. To sum it all up, I need a lifestyle change.
I look forward to chatting!0 -
My book came today!! I have plowed through more than half of it and I guess it didn't occur to me that there would be no carbs/sugar calculations in it. The Fast Track is just a meal plan. He REALLY suggests that you follow the meal plans as written. Can anyone tell me about their experiences the the FT meal plans? I am a enthusiastic cook and I know I could make his recipes without trouble but he says to..FOLLOW THE MEAL PLAN. I think we can stand it for two weeks. Thoughts?0

Hello all! I'm starting the BFC today. Can't wait to cheer each other on!0
-
I am so glad to see other people coming into (or back to) this group. I was sort afraid that the BFC was "so last year". As with most fitness/dieting trends I know that people want NEW! I had read about many different plans before choosing this one for my hubby and I. The more I read, the more I think we have made a choice. We are only on day two but it feels great to be proactive when it comes to our health. I hope that next week is full of happy posts regarding success on the scales and off!0
-
Okay, I have just had the first meal on the Fast Track plan that is grossing me out. I do not think I will be having cottage cheese again. The walnuts were not a help either. I need to choke this down so I can go yoga but ugh!0
-
I know I should be only doing official weekly weigh-in but I cannot keep off the scale! I cannot believe how many pounds I have lost already! I am so psyched about keep it up. It makes me wonder why this program doesn't get more attention.0
-
So you are doing the fast track? How much have ou lost if you don't mind me asking?0
-
Good morning! I don't mind you asking at all. I started officially on Sunday but I was already down a little from not being so nutso like I was during the holidays. I just weighed in and get this...I am down 7.6 pounds! I am almost a little freaked out about it. It has been no big deal so far to stick with it (besides eating so many eggs, which I do not love). I have been cooking like a quintessential southern cook. When I doubt, throw in some butter, cream or cheese and still I am losing. Now I sort of feel like I am waiting for the other shoe to drop and have something backfire. I guess the silver lining is that if I do hit a snag, I can certainly make things with less calories. I just haven't worried about it so far. I am very anxious to see my husband's weight on Sunday. He is my main reason that I chose this diet. I hope it works well for him and he can stay motivated.
Anyway...Thanks for friend-ing me here. Keep on going!0 -
Wow! That is awesome! I have been sticking to the 15/6 rule with the original BFC but I don't even think I have been hitting either of those numbers. I've been trying to eat lots of veggies and lean protein because without the fruit I feel like I'm missing out on vitamins. I weighed today and I'm only down 3 pounds which bothers me but I've been doing a lot of cardio with weights so I'm hoping that's muscle LOL. I have a friend who has the fast track book so I am going to borrow that from her and see if I can get your results.
A little back story on me since we will be cheering each other on:
I have two sweet kiddos who keep me VERY busy with all their sports and school activities and I work full time but in the family business so I have a lot of freedom at my job. I'm 32 right now but when I was 26 I weighed 267 pounds (i'm 5'10 by the way) I had just had my son and said enough was enough so I started eating less and working out more. I became addicted to working out. I always thought people were crazy that said that but it's true. I loved it! I lost 108 pounds. Then I became a statistic and started gaining it back by poor eating habbits. Then 6 months ago we lost my father in law suddenly and its been a rough 6 months. My husband was up and down all the time and my son who was very close to his grandfather had a very hard time with it. I sort of put me last and just started taking care of every one else. I've gained 45 pounds back and over the holidays I just let it all go and gained 10 more. I was shocked but now I am ready to get the old me back! I so HOPE this works. I do not want to be the person who gains all of the weight back. We have a trip planned to Florida in 5 months so my goal is 10 pounds a month until we leave. That will put me back where I was.
Thanks for accepting my friend request! I look forward to hearing everyones results and cheering each other on!0 -
I'm still following it - I love eating this way. I'd love to do some recipe exchanges!0
-
Thanks for sharing your story. It is so easy to put everyone first and forget the old "Secure your own oxygen mask first" way of thinking. I have a very dear friend who has a very similar work situation as you seem to have. Although there is flexibility there is also more pressure on her shoulders because it is the livelihood of her entire family. I can sympathize.
I have been trying to keep my workouts just like they were last year. I get to a group weight-lifting class about three times a week. I know that when I work out like a fiend, I want to eat more and frankly, I feel like I deserve it. Jorge even addressed this in the FT book. I have even suggested to my husband that he hold off hitting the gym until we are done with our first 14 days. He mainly walks the dogs right now for exercise.
I am happy to read the comments and I love the support! Let's keep at it. Cindi0 -
Great idea about recipe swapping. I am embarrassed to admit that most of what I'm cooking is like what I would have cooked before. We just do not have a starchy side. Last night was the first time I had to make some modifications because my recipe called for cream of mushroom soup. I just used fresh mushrooms and bulked up my sauce with a little half and half. I can imagine the horrified look on my WW leader now.0
-
I finally got the fast track book so I'm starting that tomorrow!0
-
I knew that it would be the case today but I am still bummed that the scale hasn't moved all weekend. We didn't eat the FT menu on Saturday but didn't have anything we were not supposed to. That was fine I guess. Sunday was the issue. We went to the Falcon's playoff game and here are the highlights...
Bad news: I had two lite beers and some peanuts.
Good news: I had a sausage dog with no bun and mustard.
I think the scale not moving is probably the best I could hope for. Time to knuckle down and get back on (Fast) track! Hope to hear good news from everyone!0 -
Thats exactly what happened to me! I actually did pretty good all weekend and would have been thankful just to not gain over a weekend but yesterday I messed up and really late at night too. It said I gained a pound this morning! waaaaahhhhhh!!!!! I'm kicking it into high gear this week!
Have a wonderful week!0
