Kombucha Brewers?

Hi all! So, I have become totally hooked on Kombucha since beginning my Whole 30 and giving up Diet Coke but the cost is killing me and so I am seriously considering brewing my own. Just curious to hear from some people who are brewing their own kombucha - any tips?? Warnings? Suggestions? Did you grow your own scoby or purchase one? I am a little leery of buying one on ebay, but that seems to be a pretty quick and easy way to get started.
Would also love some tips for flavoring the tea, etc.

I have never made my own kombucha but there are a couple of people in the Paleo Lifestyle group on Facebook who are doing it. One guy made his own scoby using the info from http://www.foodrenegade.com/how-to-grow-a-kombucha-scoby/.0

Thanks for the links - I will check these out. I've watched a few You Tubes on it, and it doesn't seem like it would be too difficult. I'd love to hear an update to hear how your scoby turns out! I think I'm going to grow one too using a bottle of GT's!0
