Back to Day 12!

Due to unforseen circumstances (being kidnapped and dragged by my hair kicking and screaming to the pub), I didn't do 30 ds for several days. (Was also force fed several crusty rolls and an all you can eat buffet at a Chinese Restaurant). So, Monday I did Level 1 and yesterday I started Level 2 (was on day 13 when I stopped for few days). I have only lost 4lbs since starting my diet (5 weeks ago) which has upset me slightly but I have lost 2 inches from my hips and 2 inches from my waist. So I am determined to get back on the wagon and get 30ds finished so I can start another one of her other torture, sorry I mean workout dvds. Must admit I find it hard to believe we are taking motivation from a woman who screams at us from the tv "I want you to keep going until you feel like you are going to die"! Seems a bit harsh x

  • I know what ya mean! It's so hard to stay with your plans when people are influencing you otherwise. My husband loves to bring home good beer and order chinese food.. Its too exhausting to try to say no! Especially because he's being deployed in the Navy in a month... I have to indulge with him :) Unfortunately, though I've been consistent with this workout I haven't really lost anything. But I do feel a lot stronger and am definitely going to do the shred again when I can focus more on my diet.

I agree she's very annoying! In the first video she's like "you're strong! this is easy for you" then shes like "I want you to feel like you're going to die!" but then she says "if natalie can do it so can you!" I certainly do not look like natalie! I try to turn her down and listen to music.
    Good Luck!

Ha Ha! Thanks Bellalaya! Yes its very frustrating. I have been "dieting" for 5 weeks and have only lost 4lbs. Feel very disheartened when, apart from the odd day, I have been going to the gym, eating healthily and doing 30 ds. I have lost a couple of inches but nothing major. I thought after a month I would have lost at least 7lbs!! Oh well, no point giving up or there will be more to lose when I start again!!
Will have to drown Jillian out with some music tonight to see if that makes a difference..........and remember "your neck is not invited to this party?" thanks for those words of wisdom Jillian, I'm sure they will come in very handy........one day?!

Ha ha :D Jillian is kind of mean! But I kind of like it as well! :D It does help when she says sometimes - "do not quite on me now..." - and it motivates me to stick through! :D I tried to mute her with music, but then I dont feel when the next move is starting, and it helps that she counts down sometimes! :)

I am thinking of starting her other DVD - Ripped in 30. I will not do that everyday like this one though. That workout is longer that 20 min I think, and with my running - I think it would be too much for me! :)

Ad regarding motivation - I also way more stronger than when I started! I think if I had tried Level 3 in the beginning - I would have died! :D Now though - I can see myself getting it done! :)

Regarding weight loss - dont get discouraged - it is said that often after 30ds inches are the ones that come off, not a lot of weight! You are gaining muscles and that will help long term! :)

Thank you francaise3, I am new to all this exercising melarchy! I can't stand it! I have bought 30 ds, Banish fat, Boost Metabolism, no more trouble zones and 6 week 6 pack. Once I have completed 30ds I plan to try and alternate between the others for a while. Think after a few weeks I will also buy ripped in 30 as everyone on here says it is good. I haven't found it too bad to do the dvd once I have had my dinner and washed and wiped up, as long as I dont sit down!!! I have also tried to go to the gym straight after whenever I can. Have made so many changes to my lifestyle the last 5 weeks so am slightly upset with such a small amount showing on the scales. I was stupid and thought it would fall off!!!!
You seem to be so going great guns with Jillian, very determined. Every day I see your entries and it spurs me on xx
  • Very good idea to alternate! I want to get ripped in 30 and maybe alternate weeks or every couple days with the two DVDs. Perhaps that will help with the whole plateau thing since I'd be changing it up?

I always just try to remember that the way I look and feel is more important than the number on the scale. Losing fat while gaining muscle may not change the number a lot but its definitely a better way to go!

Yeah - changing it up I think is a really good idea! I am determined to finish this 30DS, but after that I will be doing different stuff! I tried No trouble zones once - it seemed ok. I havent tried the Ripped in 30, so no idea about that one! I want to try the Yoga Meltdown as well - I have never been into Yoga (seemed too slow), but Yoga by Jillian is a VERY different thing! :D

Kim - good job on sticking through so far! :) It could be that since you made so much change in those 5 weeks, that it is overwhelming for you. Maybe you just need to get used to it slowly. Have you tried setting some small goals for yourself - that helps! :) One small step/change/goal at a time! :)

And totally agree to above - I also try to remind myself that number on scale is not everything! Difficult! But I try! :)

Yes I think I will try and do what I have been saying all along............weigh myself once a month. It won't change anything for me to wait that long. I'm hoping that even if I only lose 4lbs in 4 weeks again seeing 4lb difference on the scales in one go will be kinder to me rather than 1lb a week! Lol.
I also think that, from what others have said on here, changing the dvds around would be good so our bodies don't get used to doing the same thing all the time.

SNAP! I've only lost 4 pounds too! And it's only showing in my waist - barely anything has come off my hips and thighs. I also thought the weight would fall off a lot faster... It used to when I was younger lol.

If it helps a little bit, JM does say suring workout 3 that's when the weight should start falling off :)

I totally know how you're feeling discouraged though... I've had a few "fat" days lately, but hubby keeps saing how great I look which is helping. He can see it mostly my face apparently (I'm losing my double chin haha). There's even been a few days when he's had to put the workout on for me just to force me to do it!

Good on you for sticking with it. I'm sure that your progress pics will look amazing! xxx
