I came here looking for helpful information to make my voting decision in November. I definitely came to the wrong place. I am a christian and an independent. I base my politics on policy and facts, not on people bashing, hatred and fear mongering. I will be praying for all here and will move on to look for truthful information. May you find God's peace. I'm sorry you feel that way... but, I have to say I'm not sure where you have seen hatred in this group.
If you want help in making your decision, I would look back at all Obama has done. As the first black president, he could have actually done a lot of good in furthering the cause of Martin Luther King, Jr. Instead, he has set back race relations years. He has denied the military their vote. He has bypassed Congress on so many levels. He has killed thousands of babies with his policies (selective gender abortion just to name one policy).
Read the Bible, which I'm sure you do anyway, and then make your decision based on who is closer to God's word on same-sex marriage, abortion, and so many other issues. VOTE YOUR VALUES. It sounds like you have good values. Vote your faith.
And, I hope you have a good day.0 -

It would add to your credibility if you were to give an example of the, "bashing, hatred and fear mongering" that you speak about.0 -

Really I started to read all the posts again and couldn't find anything remotely resembling bashing hatred and fear mongering.]0 -
I have a hard time believing you are being genuine. I looked back at people's post and while there are people discussing their fears if Obama get's another 4 yrs, I don't think that there is anything wrong with that. Depending on your world view there are things that can make you fearful. Groceries are more expensive, gas has gone up, international relations have gotten worst (last time we had an ambassador killed was the year I was born, 1979), many people are unemployed (my husband included) and the divisiveness in our own country is terrible. As for hateful I didn’t see that. Please clarify what you thought was hateful? That people don’t agree with our leader? That some poked fun at some of the ridiculous things going on? Cause there was plenty of that going on when Bush was in office as well and that’s ok. We don’t have to agree with our leaders it doesn’t make someone hateful. As for coming to this forum looking for helpful information… did you once engage in a conversation with any of the posters and try to find out WHY they felt the way they did? Maybe if you participated in a healthy debate you would have found some helpful information. I have to agree with AmberJo’s response.

I have a feeling you have made up your mind. Maybe you should meet some famous conservatives to bring balance to the conversation or you can continue coming to a Republican discussion group and talking down to fellow Christians. WWJD?

My daughter on the other hand, met several. Spent new years eve with John Kennedy Jr and his wife Caroline. Went up the tram at the ski lift with Jane Fonda. More but I cannot remember. She worked at a ski resort in Big Sky, Montana, so would call me quite often with celebrity hangings.

Seems like she is far from an impartial observer seeking the truth. She is a fan.0 -
Yes, something just didn't sit right with me about her post... I felt it wasn't genuine and even kind of passive aggressive. Looking into her past post I found what she really believes. She is not an undecided voter, her veiws on gov't provided healthcare, gov't provided childcare and her praises of Canada and how good Obama smells is quite telling.
And she hasn't replied to not one question posted on the topic discussion she brought up... :ohwell:0 -

Well, I'm not trying to be "hateful" by saying this... but, if she loves gov't healthcare and all of that, why don't she move to the Canada that she loves so much. Even Canadians have been trying to tell Americans that none of this stuff works.0
