Should I redo the c25k for speed purposes?

So I have already ran my first 5k and I loved it. Now I consistently run 45 minutes 5 days a week.
Here is what I am thinking though to improve my time.
Start at week 1 day 1. But instead of jogging at my normal pace (14 min/mile), do it as fast I can. Then go through each week like before but go at a faster speed.
Has anybody done this? Do you think it could work?
Has anybody else done any training to improve speed?

I finished the program as well and during one of my rest days I went on a run with my husband (he hurt his back so he's easing back into running) and we did one day of week 1. I ran to keep up with him, so it was fast for me, and I did NOT enjoy it. Personally I wouldn't try to run as fast as you can, but maybe just faster than you usually jog. This time by the last interval I slowed way down and it was not a fun run for me. But! You may have en entirely different experience and find you actually enjoy going faster. Good luck with whatever you decide.0

You should just research speed exercises and do those.0

I am doing that right now!. Before I jogged at 4.5 mph and completed the C25k. Now I am doing it again at 5.0 and 5.5 mph.0

Interesting idea....I'll have to give it some thought.
Let us know if you do try this!0 -
Rundouble has a 5K improver program you might want to check out. It is a 14 week program with intervals - similar to their C25K0
