My new job has really hampered my ability and opportunity to run but last night I absolutely nailed it. Back in August I ran my first sub 10 minute mile (9:39) in 30 years. That was the time for my warm-up mile last night. I followed that with 8:47 and 8:27 (another PB) on my way to my best ever 5K time. I won't hit my 125 mile goal this month, but I'm making the runs count when I can get out there.

 WTD - 5.17

Hello last week in October. Got a 10K on Saturday, the Wicked 10K, but today I did a quick 6 miler to prepare. So that's 56 for the month to this date. Would've had more if I didn't have to work so much. It's good to be working, I know. I'll do better next month.0

Just stopping in to say "hi" to Cooriander and all the runners in this group! I enjoyed challenging myself to set and meet goals this past spring and summer, but had to stop running due to a degenerative hip  I've really missed this forum/group!
On a positive note, I had a total right hip replacement last week (10.17.12) and was able to walk 3 miles today on my own. Nothing speedy, but I'll take 3 miles in an hour over nothing! My next challenge is to walk the 8 Tuff Miles race on St. Thomas USVI with my daughter in February - already have my race number and plane ticket - woohoo! After that, I should be ready to begin to ease back into running. Since I was never a fast runner, I am not worried about being able to run with speed again - just being able to run several miles at a time will be a miracle! I had my left hip replaced 4.5 years ago so now I'll be running on two bionic hips - LOL! In case you are wondering, I was born with hip dysplasia so eventually would have had hip problems whether I ran or not ... so thankful I chose running!
Keep up the good work group! I'm going to keep walking and dreaming of the day when I can join you on the "spreadsheet" again!
