Pain while exercising

Last night I did a 10 minute walking dvd. While exercising my upper legs around the hip area just hurt bad. Is this because I rarely exercise? I don't remember this pain when I was a faithful exerciser in the past. Any suggestions on how to get thru this.

I make sure to stop doing any move that causes pain and to bring my pace down enough to prevent the pain from coming back. I am not sure why you experienced this, but chances are your body will need a slow and steady re-introduction to movement since it's been awhile. I could do nothing but water exercises when I first started working out, but listening to my body's strengths and limitations has worked wonders and I can comfortably walk and even jog a bit now. Stay encouraged and great job getting back on the workout wagon :flowerforyou:
