Hi everyone, another newbie! This is a great motivator to keep us on track with a nice manageable Christmas goal. I have been losng weight since June but new to MFP so keen for any friends also (that sounds like a commerical break!)
Anyway, back to business. I've lost 56 lbs since June.
Weight when I started changing my life = 102kg (225 lbs)

I weigh myself with my family weight loss group every Monday but I didn't go this week as I was going to go to a Bonfire but never did so my last weigh in was 29/10/12.

A few days ago I was about 94.5kg (208lbs) will check back in to weigh on monday!
Really hoping to get under 90 by the end of the year and keep going down from there! I have got so close to it so many times then slacked off and put a few kg back on :ohwell:

I started at 297....today I am 167.2....I feel your struggle 100%. I have weeks where I am awesome, and weeks where I suck at this..lol...but I maintain a pretty strict daily calorie goal, and if I go over with the food.....I get to spend more time at the gym :0
somedays the food is worth it...other days, I think, "was that 90 calorie funsize snickers REALLY worth the extra 30mintues on the treadmill"...lol, sometimes it was.... I know we can do this...I have been stuck at the same weight for a long time, and I recently decided to kick it into high gear and lose the last 20 pounds to reach my goal....I am glad we are all doing this together!!

Just started this today, have not weighed myself in a couple weeks (have been afraid to because I know I've gained and have been gaining for over four months after spending 8 months on a plateau) so I will suck it up and get on the scale tomorrow morning (although I usually weigh in on Sundays to be consistent, I guess I can switch to Mondays since, well, I haven't been doing it)0

Okay today is 12/11 and I convinced myself to get on my scale and I'm ready to give up without even starting. As of today, I have GAINED back 20 of the 40 I lost. I am thoroughly discouraged and frustrated as 10 of those I gained since I started back to MFP. I can't figure out if I'm eating too much or too little (MFP set me at 1500/day, if I figure out my TDEE-20% I'm at 1800/day, I've been told eat what you want when you want, just use portion control, I've been given meal plans that I hate (I am one of those that can't plan a week of meals in advance and stick to it, I don't make a bunch of food on one day with the intent to eat it over the week, I end up throwing it all out because I won't eat it.) The only thing that seems to work is the extreme diets (can't afford to keep doing those either financially or mentally)
Hopefully today's workout will help clear my head before I give up completely...0 -
Nothing like a good work out to sort out your head! I know when I m getting to that place, hat comes down lower, iPod cranked up, go in the gym and just have at it!
I don't pre-cook for the week either, I do keep a few staples handy, every morning, oatmeal, nut mix and 1/2 scoop of protein powder for breakfast, almost forgot a banana with that. I do cook up a bunch of Hadrian boiled eggs and bring 2-3 pf those a day with me, chobani yogurt, some carrots, and a protein shake for the afternoon. Lunch I migh head to the cafe for a chicken breast with salad.
Boring as it sounds works for me, and plenty of water through out the day.
