Strength training and eating at TDEE help

Hi everyone,
I have been following the EM2WL philosophy for several months now including a full 8 week reset. Recently I have pondered the idea of heavy strength training while eating at TDEE. What will happen to my body's shape if I do not eat at a cut but strength train? Will I get bigger because I am not burning any fat, only gaining muscle? Until now, I have only eaten at a cut while strength training. Thanks!!

TDEE means no gain or loss in weight - generally.
Studies have shown you'll lose fat and gain LBM, hopefully muscle as part of it. Of course, more muscle, more stored glucose, weight gain from water is possible.
Shoot, 7% increase in RMR (just resting, not all day increase) is nothing to sneeze at for 3.5 lb increase in LBM, same drop in body fat, and all in 16 weeks. Almost a lb a month. And this is older folks even, who true, probably had far to go. But still.

I lost a pants size during Stage 1 of NROL4W eating at TDEE. I'm in Stage 2 now and my body is definitely changing shape! Still eating at TDEE for now. :happy:0

So you do not think I will gain muscle but not lose any fat? In other words If eating at TDEE,, my clothes should not get tighter due to a gain in muscle but no loss in fat?0

Wow...that article is confusing but I am gussing the gist is that although weight will not change, body composition will, causing a change in body shape in the smaller direction. Thanks!!0 -

Opposite of what you said. You can gain LBM (muscle is a part of LBM, everything non-fat is a part of LBM actually) while losing fat. Muscle will likely be a part of it, but hardly the whole reason for any changes.
Just think about this, you are eating at TDEE, by definition maintenance, no gain or loss.
If you are putting a load on your body and asking it to improve, and the food and rest is there - it will.
Where will your body get the energy to do all the normal things if some of your food is going to muscle growth?
Where did the body get the energy when you were eating at a deficit?0 -

Oh yeah, you'd be hard pressed to even eating at surplus. Not bulk up, you don't have the right hormones, unless taking, uh, supplements that would help.0
