Done my "diet break/reset" - starting cut as of yesterday

On Oct 15th I hit one year logging on MFP and decided it was time for a break from calorie cutting for my sanity and for my body (that's a long time to eat decreased calories!). So I did a sort of reset, eating at TDEE and sometimes above (oops) based on my Fitbit calorie burn. I had only planned to do 2 weeks but I ended up extending it unintentionally (had some trouble getting control back.) Almost a month later, I'm ready to cut again. I am still at least 75lbs over my top goal weight so I am starting with a 20% cut (I'm also hypothyroid). So I've set my calorie goals accordingly based on all the calculations and such.

I've gained about 7lbs in the past month. I feel gross. I wasn't eating the best stuff, it was like I had free reign to eat everything since I was taking a break. Throw Halloween in there and well.... yeah - it wasn't good.

But yesterday I hit my new higher calorie goals, and today I woke up with a very hungry tummy for the first time in months. I am hoping this means I did something good for my body by taking a break. Now, I hope that those 7lbs disappear quickly and take lots of friends with them :)

Good luck to you -- I'm in week four of my reset, and probably going to go for four more weeks if I can take it. Have only gained about 3 lbs so far, hopefully won't go up too much more (am eating well -- nothing crazy). Will look forward to watching your progress! Add me as a friend if you like.

Did RESET from late August until now. haha. Actually, did try and cut a bit (was eating generally 2300+ cals/day and in late Oct, moved to trying to get in around 2000/day). Am down 2lbs and holding at 2000cal/day. Don't plan on going down too much more. The key is the heavy lifting!
