Anyone tried this bread before - good, bad, in different?
Both my husband and I are primal - I have attempted to make "paleo" bread but I just can't get it right - doesn't come out good for me.

Hi there! Yes, I ordered some about a month ago, it took 2 weeks for delivery and the customer service was slow.
Okay ........so the taste......while is is not horrible, it for me just lacks flavor, very bland. The coconut variety was more moist than the almond. The texture..... well not what conventional breads are anyway.
Hubby and I toasted it , buttered it and ate with eggs - but I really would recommend it as something that would remind you of bread. Ours is in the freezer and we may process it for bread crumbs or maybe make thanksgiving stuffing adding serious seasonings!
Our main complaint was lack of flavor as toast or sandwhich goods!
Hope this helps :-)0 -
Hated it. My sister ordered some over the summer. We were all sorely disappointed with the product. I can't describe the taste, only that it was bad. I would not recommend it.0

My advice - don't bother with the stuff.
Being Paleo (and, personally, a coeliac), bread should be ruled out entirely. It's really not necessary. Think about it - do you really need it? Just seems like an unfriendly reminder of old, gluten eating days,
And most gluten-free breads taste like *kitten*. Seriously.
Want something to hold a meal together? Portabella mushrooms work fine, but if you're looking for something especially tasty, try sliced grilled sweet potato. Holds together really well, kinda *like* bread, but... IMO, there's not such thing as "Paleo Bread". Kind of of contradictory name.0 -
Thanks for letting me know...
I stay away from making paleo "treats" cause they just don't work for me (excpet for a sweet potato brownie recipie I have)...There are a few things I rarely have that call for bread - like french toast - so I was thinking if it was decent maybe I could have things like that a little more often then once a year...0 -
I bought both varieties at a local store recently, and I was quite disappointed. I think I really had high expectations because of all the rave reviews I'd read. The almond flour one was the better of the two, but it was still very dry and had little flavor. It also didn't seem to toast like real bread, I had to run it through the toaster about 3 times and it never really got that golden brown color. The coconut flour variety was just downright gross to me. I tried it plain with butter and I also attempted a grilled cheese sandwhich with it, and it was a total letdown. It was really soggy!
I've had much more success making homemade breads (recipes from Elana's Pantry) that I enjoy more. I don't eat them regularly, but it's nice as a treat once in a while.0
