I'm planning to make the change to a Paleo AIP lifestyle soon and I'm hoping to find more people who can relate. Anyone out there?

I did a very similar thing to treat Crohns disease. It was quite restrictive, but it proved an interesting exercise, I found that eggplant was a trigger food for example. Cutting out grains and legumes alone though led to a huge improvement in symptoms as well as weight loss.0

I am doing a cross of AI with GAPS. I don't have an autoimmune disease that was helped by the protocol, I just found that some of the items it eliminates helped my digestion, like nuts. I do have Celiac Disease with an associated skin disease (possibly DH) but that hasn't reappeared since I went GF 7 years ago. My digestion was still crap on AI, until I started more GAPS style eating. I have to cook or ferment all my FODMAPS and I have severe fructose intolerance (I don't expect that to be healed by GAPS, I suspect I've had it my whole life). This week I am going to reintroduce eggs and nightshades so we'll see how that goes!0

I've been doing the Paleo AIP strictly for about two weeks right now. I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, diagnosed at age 19. I believe my trigger was living a vegetarian lifestyle and working out excessively (cortisol). I currently take Armour and have been Paleo since January 2012. I also take Vitamin D, selenium and zinc to help support my thyroid.
I got successfully into my third week on AIP last month before I gave it up due to my unwillingness to give up coffee. This time around, there is no coffee and as a result, there is no more joint pain. Most of my joint pain went away within the first few weeks of doing Paleo.
What are your symptoms? The joint pain and fatigue were the biggest symptoms for me. I don't have any digestion issues with foods like eggs, nuts or seeds, but I have noticed that nightshades will set off an autoimmune response in my finger joints. So I stay away from them.
Please feel free to friend me.0
