OTC Supplements

I've been to two doctors and although I had two different experiences, neither wanted to treat me. Tests were not bad enough in their eyes. I'm done wasting time with them. I've started using coconut oil in my cooking and then I just eat 1 teaspoon straight each day. I also bought some raw thyroid and raw adrenal supplements from amazon. I've been taking one of each a day for about the last week and a half. I've also increased some of the vitamins I take. I can't say that I've noticed any major difference in the fatigue at the end of the day, by 9pm I am literally passed out as if I had taken nyquil. In the morning and during the day, I seem to be more alert, less fog. I'm also warmer, I really noticed that yesterday, normally I have to have on my jacket and have my space heater running in my office all day long but yesterday I had both off and was comfortable. Although, right now both are on and my feet are icy in my shoes.... so I can't say I am seeing anything consistently but I understand it can take a month or more before the supplements take effect.
It's not the ideal thing to do but when there is nothing else that can be done, this is what I have chosen to do for myself.
Anyone else try OTC?

Make sure your doctor (doctors) have ruled out other diseases. I had some of the same symptoms and turned out I have an autoimmune disease that took the doctor (not too sharp) about 2 years to find. Everything is not the thyroid and other diseases take a skilled doctor (which I now have after firing 3-4 doctors) to find out what is wrong. I have thyroid problems plus autoimmune and a few others (3) that my new doctor found and was able to correct. Good luck.0

I exhibited very bad symptoms of hypothyroidism. Unfortunatey, my levels were not high enough to be put on prescription meds. I talked to another doctor of mine (gynecologist who also does natural, holistic medicine), and she suggested taking Raw Thyroid (bovine-based). I started taking it and noticed improvements immediately. I feel "normal" again. I get it at the Vitamin Shoppe; the brand is American Biologics, I believe.0

If you haven't already, you should read Mary Shomon's book, Living Well with Hypothyroidism. There is a whole section in there about supplements.

Also, check and see if your temperature is low. If your temp is low, it's a sign your thyroid is off.
When you got tested, were your Free T3 and Free T4 tested? TSH isn't a good indicator. My Free T3 levels are most closely related to the way I feel.0
