... and I have lost 5 pounds since Monday! So, I am thinking this 'lifestyle' will work for me! I am never hungry or craving anything and the weigh is falling off. I don't expect the weight loss to continue like this, I'm sure it is because I am just getting started... but I am pleasantly surprised!

  • Hey well done! some of that will have been water loss due to a lower carb intake but its so very good for your health to eat this way :) keep up the good work!

That sure is motivating! Yes, don't expect it to be like that every week. My weight loss was pretty slow, and usually just 1/2 or 1 pound at a time. But... the inches came off faster than the scale, and I'm still getting smaller even though my scale is stubbornly stuck.

Post any questions you have. Welcome.
  • Good for you! I am in my third week now and I lost 3.8lbs the first week and then 1.8 the second. Like you, I am just so thrilled to be losing and not having it be such a fight. I feel satisfied all day long and I don't have constant carb cravings. I don't have any carb cravings. It's a great thing! I don't even log my food (just my workouts) and that is so freeing. : )

Great start! Like others have mentioned, it's probably a lot of water weight, but hey, if that means cloths fit better I'll take it!

Today is my 8th day of eating paleo and I'm down 7!

It is still going well but you are correct, the weight loss has slowed down. I'm still not craving anything. It's pretty amazing. I have some concerns with Thanksgiving coming up in two days though. :X

Welcome to a healthier way of eating! My weight loss has been great so far (minus my vacation recently) but it's been the health improvements that have blown me away! The weight loss will take time but the health improvements were immediate. It's great not to feel sick all the time.

My 46th week of eating Paleo.

I actually did set a New years resolution last year and it stuck. (although mine was simply to start out grain free for 30 days and "see what happened"). All started as a competition at my gym but really at my personal frustration in myself and what I had become physically.

While I will have the very occasional cheat - I love eating this way. I sit around and watch my family and friends struggle with weight vs food. I watch them feel guilty when they order a steak or desert. They almost always leave a meal feeling unsatisfied.

I not only have been able to maintain my weight effortlessly, I get to enjoy my meals.

I spent years trying to caloric-ally-deficit myself - and even gave thousands to people like nutri-systems. Everything failed and I felt miserable and hungry and deprived.

do not make the mistake I made initially and think of it as a diet, think of it as "how I eat".
My moods, energy, health, strength, immune system and hormones are running on all 8 cylinders now.
