W4D2 .... Long but worth the read

Well,,,, After my W4D1 interval set that really tested my resolve I was determined that I would either make today's run or stay home cause it might rain tomorrow, all of the work traffic would be coming into the community, I would miss the Dr Oz show ..... (ok so you get the point that I was looking for excuses to get out of it today). Finally I suited up and walked out the front door. All went really well for the first 3 minute run, the five minute run, I went just a little further before the walk started than on Tuesday; so I was beginning to think that this wasn't going to be so bad.
With about 2 minutes left to go in the last 5 minute run my son calls me from the market so I click over on my iPhone and he has a question about one of the items I asked him to get. So I keep jogging (**applause**), and give him a very clipped answer in-between my gasps of breath. Fortunately for him I did not hear any laughter. Then we hung up and I look at the timer and had only 1:10 left to run. Determined to finish it out I leaned into the hill and started to climb I passed the spot when the run had ended the time before and was very glad that I had made it further. Not wanting to but feeling that I had to, i checked the time again 1:10 left to go... I was determined to finish this out and I could do ANYTHING for 1 minute and 10 secoooondssssss.... Wait a minute isn't that what it said before? I looked again 1:10 to go......
Then I realized that I didn't hang up I paused the timer... so I actually (as near I can tell) ran about 7 minutes on the last interval. Well at least I didn't stop tell it was over.
So the moral to the story is do not answer the phone without checking the timer afterwards!!!
