What's for dinner?

I don't know about you, but it's a cold damp wintry evening here (Brighton-ish) and I'm thinking I need a good warming dinner ... fancy dumplings, but that ain't gonna happen any time soon ... so what are you having for dinner, or what would you have that's reasonably healthy - or at least not really wicked, that will fill you up and warm you up without added guilt? :glasses:

We ended up having chilli, made with extra lean beef mince, loads of vegetables, beans and chickpeas and we shared a packet of Tilda microwave brown basmati rice. Really warming and filling and I feel, a "good use" of calories - low fat and high fibre!0

I quiet often do curry and if it's lazy and out a jar (more often than not) I add lots of veg and lentils as well as the meat then it is more filling and healthy0

I am still umming & arring, but think I have settled on 2 Co-op bangers [de-frosting as I type] with maybe small portion chips & 2 dry fried, or poached, eggs
bangers & chips will be done in my new Actifry, never done bangers in it, so may be absolute crap & i finish up with a cheese & pickle sarnie
Not too fussed as I am of to RHS Wisley tomorrow, a good walk round and pub lunch after, so a few spare calories in my back pocket will be handy, and I have a new cold & cough, so food is not top of my list at the moment and I am not really hungry, which I guess is good
It is the sort of day to be indoors0 -

Mmmm sausages, always a good choice from the satisfaction point-of-view, though a bit naughty! Poached egg with them sounds delicious and chips of course! Not heard of this Actifry - how was it?
Hope you're feeling better for your trip.0 -
scrambled egg - cooked without milk nor fat in microwave (entered as poached since MF database has ooodles of added calories in its scrambled database)
bacon, tomato
followed by Muller Corner and Melon slices (eaten separately - not with the yoghurt on the melon, of course).0 -
Mmmm that sounds tasty and nutritious! Good choice!0

Tonight will be left over (from Sunday lunch) roast beef with roasted vegetables followed by half a melon each0

Sort of odds & sods tonight. homemade meat loaf [a last minute bargain minced beef buy from Lidl at 70p for 500g] with stir fry veg in sweet & sour sauce
Comes out at 448 calories, which is just as well because my low fat coleslaw for lunch was much higher in calories than I thought when I bought it, unfortunately the old eyes just cannot read the small print on the labels these days :grumble:0 -

Tonight I am resorting to a low-cal ready-meal - I've had a really busy, long day and I'm out again to a meeting this evening - I just don't have the energy to cook :O(0

2 eggs - had the Practice Christmas Lunch in a pub - clocked up 1200 or so calories in one meal <pout>0

I find some of the ready meals are very tasty, if not exactly ideal regarding ingredients reading like a chemical lab work sheet , for instance Morrison's Nu Me bangers & mash or Asda fish pie . Not what I would normally have, but certainly do the calorie counted job
PS it was sirloin steak [another Lidl reduced offer], 2 scrambled eggs, grilled tomatoes with a toasted crust tonight, & just popped me over my limit, but it was lovely0
