Vacation Question

Hi all!

I'm going on vacation for nine days in December/January (encompassing Christmas and New Year's). The last couple of days I've upped my calories because I was staling at 1350 and also wanted to begin building muscle (and didn't want to live like that for the rest of my life). I'm now at high 1500s to 1620 per day, and trying to get in around 150-160g of protein. So I have a few weeks to adjust to higher calories. I've started doing Supreme 90 for the strength training, but doing my own cardio (5X a week of moderate cardio on the crossramp and the treadmill, alternating days, for about 45 minutes).

While on vacation I won't have access to a gym and will be busy having fun with family I hardly ever get to see. So my question is this, should I just take a complete break during those 9 days (eat sensibly as much as possible but not worry about tracking, take a break on the weight training, maybe get in walks at the most), or should I try to do some weight training while I'm there (doing the Supreme 90 will be hard as people will be sleeping in the den and I can't do it early in the morning..the rest of the day there are too many people to try and get it in) by doing things like push ups, sit ups, etc? Also, should I try to track my food or just count this as a reset?

Thanks in advance!

I vote for rest, no tracking, no nothing.. Unless of course you are bored and have nothing else to do.. then sure do some strength trainging/cardio or what not.. but I wouldn't take time out of fun activities to hit the gym.

I agree. I just had a rest week due to being sick and I feel like it was the best thing ever. I was planning on doing my regular exercise and just eating my TDEE for the week to make it easier to get through the holiday. But since I got sick I ended up eating at TDEE (sometimes over) that included exercise, but instead I was in bed resting up.

My pants feel looser today and I got my monthly this morning. :)

Sometimes your body just needs a break!

That's true! I know in the past when I went on vacation I never had a problem getting back to my normal weight (whatever it was at the time). Plus by the I'll have been working on this for two months, so sounds like a good time for a break!
