Hi all! Briefly describe your journey thus far and give your starting weight.
Began my journey at 294.8. I was lazy, unmotivated, and complacent. I found MFP and Zumba and the rest is history. I have lost 34 pounds so far and have no plan of stopping.

Hi all, my journey has largely been with Weight Watchers where I lost 67.02 pds (I work in kgs, so had to find a converter!!!) Sounds much better in pounds!!! Slowly over the past few months I have had some health issues and reformed my bad habits and have gained some back again. My son in law showed me 'my fitness pal' after he has lost around 15kgs, and I have decided to really give it a go!!
Stats:
Start weight - 90.4kgs (199.29 pds) January 6 2010
Lost 30.4kgs (67.02 pds) February 14 2011
27/11/12 - 146.16 (66.3kgs)

Hi everyone!
I'm starting fresh, recently lost my job after 10 yrs (bad), became a first time nana (good) plan on spending lots of time with my new grandson, not going to work for a while so I'll have plenty of time to exercise which at my age (58) is key to losing the weight. I love this program!

Hi Everyone! Thank you so much for doing this challenge- this is what I needed. I started working out 7/8/2012 -starting weight was 178. I got down to 143 before Thanksgiving, but weighed in at 148 this morning. I just found out my Thyroid is out of wack too, so I hope by joining this group I can kick off 2013 the right way.

I was NOT thrilled as I weighed this morning, following Thanksgiving. Have gained 5 pounds since my last weigh in. I have set some specific goals starting now and extending into 2013. Right now I currently weigh 236 pounds. My goal for this 5 week challenge is 10 pounds. No gaining over Christmas and exercising regularly, while counting calories. Thanks for issuing the challenge. This is just what I needed.0

I'm so excited for this group! I was looking for something to help me get a head start on the new year. This will be great. My story isn't terribly exciting. I had my first child a few years ago and have struggled with the weight loss since. I'm hoping this site can help hold me accountable.

Hi All! I am Sherry from Florida.
Just joined MFP at the suggestion of a friend. SHe only uses it to track calories/weight. I however am looking forward to the challenges and help/advice/support from others!
I am down to my last 14 pounds to lose. I've lost 15 pounds since September but am now at a standstill. I have struggled with weight since I was a teenager--with a high of 200 and a low of 130. My goal is to get to 140--I want to be a healthy/fit weight-not a stick!

I think this is just what I needed. I joined WW in Jan and MFP in Feb. I have slipped big time lately. I'm to exhausted to work out, which I know is a lame excuse, and my eating habits are out of control. I weighed myself today, and I'm sad to say I've put on a few pounds. I'd like to lose 10 lbs during this challenge.

Yay! More support! I need all the help I can get! I have lost the "baby" weight several times with weight watchers but keep gaining it back! So frustrating!!!! My biggest problem is finding time to spend on me. I have four children and a husband that works a lot of hours to provide for our brood. I am rededicating myself to getting healthy and this is just the sort of support I need.

Hi everybody! I'm excited to do this challenge as I've been looking for something to get me back I. The swing of things. Long story short, was always thin had kids and have struggled with my weight since. I joined MFP over a year ago but have been here religiously for about 250 days. I started running around June and will do my first half-marathon this Sunday. My highest weight ever is 241 but I started MFP at 231.

Hi everyone! I decided to join the challenge b/c at this point I have no accountability in my weight loss journey. I start on 9/22 at a weight of 234 (not my highest ever). As of this morning I was down to 205.4 lbs. I am doing a mixture of different eating plans (a little Paleo, South Beach, Atkins and Low glycemic) in hopes to try to tackle other health issues. I hope to be under 200 at the end of 2012.

my highest weight was 300 lbs @ the end of july& then my ex n I broke up, & i am down to 242 this morning! my goal was to be @ 232 by december 1st but lost motivation over this holiday weekend. Time to get back on track!!!

I've been on MFP about 3 years ago. While on track I lost 30 pounds and was on my way! Then, life got in the way, we moved 250 miles away into my parents basement with our son and two dogs, bought a foreclosed house and worked our butts off to make it our home and then my Mom and best friend was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Long story short, the last person that I take care of is myself...I'm going to try really hard to change that this time. I need to be able to put myself and my health at the top of the list with everything else. That's why I'm here and I think this challenge is a really great start for me!

Well, lets see... I started my journey on April 14, 2012., I weighed in at 198.2 pounds. Since then I've lost 35.8 pounds. I've set my goals very HIGH... when I reached my half way mark on October 14th, I was 6.6 pounds away from my goal. I have 34.4 pounds to go and this challenge is just what I needed to get me to where I want to be come January 1st! =D

Hello everyone! My name is Jessica and I'm from Michigan
I started my weight loss journey in 2009-2010 after having a horrible anxiety attack and finding out I weighted 371 (yikes!), I wasn't very happy about that, but I think after I got a job in the warehouse in 2010 I dropped down below 350 (can't remember the exact weight). In 2011 I went back up to 350, but thankfully I managed to get down to about the mid 320-ish range and below.

I am at my heaviest right now, 154 lbs. (my weight fluctuates up to 5 lbs a day though so numbers are hard - I can tell how I am doing by how my clothes fit). I have been doing MFP for a couple years, but always fall off the wagon. Same with exercise, I will get on a kick, then get a cold or something, and fall off the wagon. My biggest struggle right now is living with my boyfriend. He is super thin and fit, but can eat a lot and likes good stuff (good as in bad). He would be totally supportive if I cooked healthy, but for some reason I don't for us. I only see him Thurs-Fri even though we live together because he works nights. So M-W I will log my eating, etc. but then on the weekend I want to go to breakfast and out to eat and get treats b/c I never see him so it feels like time together. I am hoping a challenge will keep my accountable. I also have been dealing with health problems lately that are getting me really down and not feeling great about my future, so I hope getting back in to the swing of things will at least help somewhat.0

I am 35 and about 100lbs overweight! I was a 4 sport athlete in high school and played college volleyball. Somewhere along the way I LOST my way. But, I'm here to get back on track!!

Hi all, I'm trying to lose weight following a pregnancy. My baby is now 4 months old and I am breastfeeding. I'm not sure how the breastfeeding impacts weight loss. I originally set my calories to 1500 because I was told I need 300 extra calories to nurse but I recently dropped down to 1200 calories this week because I've seen no weight loss. I exercise 5 days a week.

I was looking for a group to help me with my new goal today of losing 13 lbs by Christmas, but I'll throw in an extra few lbs just for Jolly Ol St. Nick!!

I would absolutely love to be 249 on Jan 1, 2013. My overall goal is to be to 160 by December 31, 2013, so that'll leave me 90 lbs to lose next year! Glad this challenge is goin! See less of you all soon! (I mean less by losin weight!!)

Hi everyone! I'm Jennifer and I initially started this journey at 153 lbs, which is the most I've ever weighed. I am only 5 ft 3, and my ultimate goal is to get down to 130. I feel a LOT better than I did at 153 but I am shocked it has taken me almost 5 months to lose 14 lbs (I really don't know why it's taking so long but it's disappointing.) Hoping this challenge will keep me motivated! For this challenge I want to lose 5 lbs, which is definitely going to be difficult for me due to all the birthdays this month and Christmas.

Hello everyone! I'm Jerene and I've been trying to lose weight ever since I hit puberty. I'm 5'4". At my highest, I've weighed over 150lbs. I'm 4 lbs away from my lowest weight right now and I'd love to lose some weight and inches around my thighs and hip area. I'd love to get to about 115 -120lbs. I really want to get down to about 130lbs by 2013, which means about 1lb per week. I've been using MFP religiously for about a month, and even though my body has changed (more toned), the scale hasn't budged much.
