Hi All- I am 5'4" and weigh 163 lbs., 165 being my highest weight. I was muscular but slim in high school-- no cellulite or tummy pooch. I ate whatever I wanted but was very active. I never used to weigh myself but I believe I was approximately 140-145 lbs when I was looking my best and feeling my most energetic. I was SHOCKED when I got on the scale New Year's Day 2010 and weighed 160 lbs. I still fit into high school clothes but they looked different--my face is wider, arms and legs fluffier, and the dreaded stomach pooch has lodged itself onto me. My friend and I started South Beach, but when I got back to college it was hard to avoid carbs with being broke, going out to eat, drinking, etc. I have been trying to lose 15-20 lbs since that day, but to no avail.
I remain active, and wish I could be more active. I've tried eating healthily and watching portions, cutting carbs, even giving up diet soda, my favorite thing. My weight won't seem to budge, and coolsculpting didn't touch my tummy pooch. It is now less than six months until my wedding and I want my flat tummy back! I hope to be in the low 140s for my wedding day and lose overall inches so I look good (and fit into) my wedding gown!
I have been doing well with MFP for a couple weeks now, but I'm not losing ANY weight yet. It's frustrating, and I wonder if my stressful nightshift job is contributing to the problem. My friends are all thinner than me yet wat less healthy and work out less...it is pretty frustrating. I hope a group will keep me accountable and encouraged throughout the holidays.0 -

Im BB im 5'4'' currently 165lbs. Found out I was pregnant in october, however it wasnt meant to be and turned out to be a molar pregnancy so ttc is currently on hold. I did put on a litte *ahem* ok alot of weight. So until I get the all clear from the hospital I am going to concentrate on getting myself fit and healthy. Im hoping 2013 is going to be a better year than 2012!!

Hello Everybody,
My journey to a healthier lifestyle started in July but became serous in the last month. I don't want my weight to be the excuse for not participating life. I have been working out to the free videos on Fitnessblender.com. I have only lost 13lbs but I feel fabulous!

Hi All!
I weighed the most I ever have last New Year's Day. I've made steady progress this year, but the last 5 pounds seem stuck! I'm 61, at a desk 10 hours a day, but I'm good at daily exercise. Just got a Fitbit Zip to track my steps, and I love it. I'm going to increase my strength training as well. Love the idea of a weekly weigh-in!

Hi All!
I had Gastric Bypass in 2006, lost about 97 pounds. Then had a blockage that ultimately ended in my anastemosis (sp?) stretching and I gained pretty much everything back. So I ended up gaining almost everything back until I was 271 pounds again.
I finally had my opening my repaired on October 19, 2012. This is not the same as having the surgery and I still have to be very mindful of what I eat and being physical to try to get all the weight off. So far, I have lost 16 pounds and would like to be down to 240 by January 1.

Hello all!
I'm a bit late but I really wanted to get in on this group. I love the idea of the weekly challenges!
I am currently in my healthy weight range, but pretty out of shape ever since I started Fall semester in college. I used to be able to run 10 miles and now can barely make it 2! I have asthma and I can tell whenever I'm getting out of shape again - it gets worse! My goal to achieve before 2013 is to get back to being able to run a 5k straight. I am 5' 4, 123 lb. I'm hoping the weekly challenges will help me along the way.0 -
Im a little late but I need to join I need that push to get through the holidays. This was a great idea and it's great motivation wish me luck and good luck to all we got this!!!!!

Just joining the group today, but I did weigh in yesterday at 182. My goal is 170-175 by 1/1/2013. I had a gastric band done 4 yrs ago and am now down 103 lbs. I am going to have a tummy tuck so I have to reach this goal by January to be able to schedule it. I want to get it done in April after I complete my 4th half marathon. I will be 52 in February and it definitely gets harder as time goes on. Thanks for setting up this group, I know we will all have success!0

I just joined this group today, but here is my update. I am a mom of 3 beautiful kids, 5yrs to 1yr. I used to be active before I had my kids, and I kinda just got lazy and unmotivated. Now that I know I will no longer have anymore babies, I want to get my body back in shape to the way I was before, or even better!

Good morning,
I am new to myfitnesspal. I started my weight loss in February 2012. To start I weighted 245, by July I had lost 65lbs through work out videos from Jillian Micheals and Chalene Johnson. LOVE it can do them anywhere if you have a laptop or DVD player. Since then I have been having a really hard time losing that last 20-25 lbs. I found myfitnesspal and I am going to try it!

Hello, Im 4'9 and I was 157 pounds. That was alot of weight for my height. I found that eating right and doing Bar method really helped me slim down and tighten up. I have lost 40 pounds so far and will continue until I reach my goal weight of 100 pounds. Im so excited to do this challenge for the new year

I'm a new member of MFP (started two weeks ago) I"m about 150lbs overweight and I realized that this time next year I will be a half a century old and I want to be ahappier healthier person when I hit the half century mark.

Hello everybody!
I am Melissa from North Dakota. I started this journey with MyFitnessPal on August 27. I have lost 34 pounds so far! I am 3 pounds to my first goal of 165. But I have a new goal - 150! That would put me at a healthy BMI (I'm 5'7"). I have an 18 month old son, and really packed on the pounds when I was pregnant with him. I nursed him for a year and wasn't watching what I ate at all and exercising only once in a while, which left me still in the 200's. My goal for January 1 is to keep this weight off that I have lost so far, enjoy the holidays (and all the wonderful food with it), and keep my exercise level up. I would also like to reach my first goal of 165 before Christmas and be in the 150s by my 32nd birthday on December 30.

Hi Everyone!! I am Carla. I'm 26 years old and I started MFP in 2011. I was doing that and weight watchers. I did it faithfully from February to May. I started at 200 lbs and by May I was 185 lbs but lost many inches went from a size 18 to a size 11. After I fell off the wagon I gained it all back plus some! I recommited myself this November. My starting weight 3 weeks ago was 217 lbs. I am now down to 209.6. My goal is to be 195 by the new year.

Thanks for creating this challenge. I am joining a day late. I am 5 7" and weigh 141.8 pounds. I have gained like 10 pounds in the last month because I am not really motivated. I'm starting a day late...I've struggled with the same 10 lbs over an over...up and down...right now I am up those 10 pounds. I just need to get past the 10...personal challenges is eating properly. I can go weeks and eat perfect, then fall off the wagon for the same number of weeks. My final goal is 135

I'm Kelly and I got down to 127 early this year, but I had a cycle crash resulting in a fractured sternum among other things, wasn't pretty cycle downhill and taking on a fence - which ironically was installed as a safety measure, hummm - well I gained as I was flat out for 2-3 weeks and started eating crap and drinking wine, I think I went back up to about 146lbs so nearly 19lb and the crash was only in September so I basically pigged out!
Recovery has been slow, I added walking back in and have only recently gone back to the gym, I'm doing JM at home as I love to work out, I was miserable when I couldn't and I comfort ate I wish I could go back and give myself a slap as I now have to do it again, although my very highest was 158 back in March, and that's about it0 -
Im also a day late... I started at 180 at my highest got down to 4lbs of my goal of 130. I was in the best shape of my life 2 summers ago and even finished a triathlon. Then my engagement ended and I gained back 20. I could KICK myself. Im back at the grind and need to find the motivation to workout and eat right everyday.

Hi there, everyone.... I never had to worry about my weight AT ALL until my third child. With that being said, I am starting to combine working out and eating better and am going to give it my all to get rid of this last 20! Which is utter torture.

Hi friends,
I have always been active and skinny my whole life (what a pain, right?). After moving across the country for work, I began steadily putting on weight. I am now 60 pounds heavier and am trying to get back in shape! I just got married last week and we are planning a beach honeymoon for July. I want to start off our marriage with healthy habits AND look good in on the beach!!!
