FYI - the Warrior Dash registration for next year is already open and it's only $30 for the next 9 days, cost goes up by about $10 each month.

Marathon, half marathon, 5K and kids run the first weekend of November:

Another version of the color run - Indy September 8th at fairgrounds - there have been 2 different groupons for $20 entry for this race but they sell out fast, if another one comes up I'll do it, otherwise I'll pass

Drumstick dash on Thanksgiving in Broadripple 4.6miles, 2.5 miles and kids run:

I was going to do it, but it conflicts with 5k that I just found out about at our small-town fall festival, and I'd rather run in it to support our small town...

I was hoping to do an October run, but with my injury I don't think that will happen. Now, I'm looking to November. Maybe the drumstick?? Anyone else doing this?

I hadn't really thought about doing any in November, I was thinking the season was winding down, but I just found a gazillion in Indiana on this page: http://www.runningintheusa.com/Race/List.aspx?Rank=Month&State=IN&Month=11

So, yeah, I don't know, I'll have to think about one now..

Thanks for posting this one! I didn't know about it but it looks like lots of fun! I think I might see if any friends want to do it. I'm going to start c25k next week, I think I'll be ready.

Just found this group! Southsider here. Love Southeastway park. Also just explored southwestway and look foward to doing some trail runs there. My first race ever was rebel run, and I absolutely fell in love with OCR's here (already signed up for spartan in the spring with my reluctant wife), also ran the Mallow run 5k (great time). My wife and I will be doing the drumstick dash and Santa Hustle for sure. I have a goal to do SOMETHING every month if thats possible.

Welcome to the group! I ran at Mallow run this year.. 14th in my age group (40's) and something like 123rd or something overall (I think it was a bit over 28 minutes although I can't remember exactly what it was offhand). Not bad considering I couldn't run for over 20 seconds in the spring :) Anyway, this group isn't normally super-active, but it's become more so over the year - and anything you want to contribute to help keep it active would be great!

Thanks! We didn't time run Mallow as it was our first 5k...honestly after the fact we regretted that decision. Im looking to do one under 30 min before the end of the year. I too just started the running this spring...

Anyone going to do the Drumstick Dash and/or St. Niklaus Lauf? I think I'm doing both as family races...

Also, tried a trail run at southwestway last Wednesday and it was great!

Any suggestions for other good places to trail run in Indianapolis?

I've got several coming up: Jingle Bell 5k 12/8 downtown. Join my team on the registration site if you want (Team Ninja)
Santa Hustle (I'm doing the half marathon - my 2nd half) 12/16
Commitment Day 5k by Lifetime Fitness Jan. 1
Dirty Girl Mud Run (may 2013)

I'm also a member of a local active group called Team Ninja - its a group focused on getting off the couch and doing something new. Free to join and a great place to find motivation and mentors. www.teamninja.org

Eagle Creek has some good trails to run. You can also try Ft. Ben, the ones there are more hiking/ walking, but you can certainly run them...
