Am I just a weirdo?

I have always considered my way of eating “clean” but when I look at food journals of my clean eating friends, I see packaged and processed foods, low fat foods, and basically a list of things that I would not eat. Not saying in any way that they are wrong and my way is right!! Just saying it’s different from what I eat.
I guess what I need to know is what my way of eating is called?
What I will NOT eat:
Sugar, wheat, soy, artificial sweeteners or anything processed. No pastas or rice - white or brown.
What I do eat:
I use Stevia in the Raw in place of sugar and artificial sweeteners. I eat Ezekiel Sprouted Whole Grains (bread, tortillas, and muffins – but only occasionally) and Quinoa. Limited fruits and tons of veggies. Meats – I can’t afford grass fed, organics. I do try to get antibiotic & hormone free but I buy what I can afford in lean meats and I do eat a lot of meat. Dairy consists of whole fat & organic butter and yogurt – again sparingly. Eggs – I only buy from a local farmer and only organic if I can’t get to the farmer and I eat the whole egg, not just the whites. Raw nuts & seeds – unroasted and unsalted. I use coconut oil to cook with, EVOO and Apple Cider Vinegar for salad dressing. Coconut milk in my coffee – YUM! Oh and Fish is Wild Caught not farm raised. And that’s basically it. I use single ingredient foods for meals instead of recipes with a ton of ingredients.
I feel like I am the only weirdo out there that eats the way I do! If I am that’s ok – I no longer have health issues that I had before AND I’m losing weight!
If there is anyone else out there like me, friend me! I need more “weirdo” friends like me!

Your list looks like the clean I try to achieve. There are as many definitions of clean as people who define it. I just do the best I can to eat the best I can. I am always working to eat cleaner.0

I don't think you are weird at all, maybe you are just better at sticking to the clean way of eating than some of your friends! Your list of things you won't eat is nearly identical to my list of things I try my darndest to avoid. I also try to stay away from anything with soy, or canola, "vegetable", or soybean oils.
However even the best of us have off days, fall prey to cravings, get stuck at functions where clean food isn't available, etc. Some folks are trying to eat clean but are taking baby steps to get there! I eat clean most of the time but Good Lord I wanted pasta yesterday and with a new puppy in the house I didn't have time to cook whole wheat tortelloni myself. So I bought some lean cuisine thinking at least if I was going to indulge I could have something low in calories. I haven't eaten lean cuisine in nearly a year.
I guess my point is that our day to day journals are not always accurate projections of what we are trying to do in our diet or how clean we like to eat. Sometimes they just show that we are trying, but all fall short of our goals sometimes.0 -
Thanks Alyanya!
Don't get me wrong. I will eat that peppermint barc that my daughter made for Thanksgiving! Just in small pieces and I don't log that! I don't beat myself up over it either. My eating journal is the big picture and majority of the time. I was just beginning to think it was me that was the weird one.:ohwell:0
