Packing a lunch while on the Weight
Watchers weight-loss program is an
effective way to stay on the program
while at work or on the go. Including a
variety of healthy foods in a packed lunch
will not only cost you fewer points, but
also be more satisfying in the long run.
One of the best ways to stay within your
daily point allotment is to choose foods
that are high in fiber because of their
satiating quality.
SANDWICH-BASED LUNCH
Under the Weight Watcher Point Plus
program, which was introduced in 2010,
fruits and vegetables are zero points,
making them an ideal addition to any
packed lunch. Brown-bagging a sandwich
fits nicely into the Weight Watchers
program. The trick here is to use whole-
wheat bread that is high in fiber and low
in fat. Three ounces of low-fat meat, such
as turkey breast, is an excellent choice
which does not use a lot of points.
Veggies don’t cost any points and can go
a long way in making your lunch more
filling. A lunch consisting of a turkey
breast sandwich on whole wheat with
lettuce, tomatoes and pickles and a fruit
or two will cost you a grand total of eight
points. The point breakdown goes like
this: two points for the bread, six for the
turkey and zero for the fruits and
vegetables. If you must use a condiment,
try mustard; it is worth zero points.
FROZEN-MEAL LUNCH
Frozen meals are another packed-lunch
option that’s filling, easy to pack and can
help you stay on the Weight Watchers
program. These food products are
produced under a variety of brand names,
including Weight Watchers Smart Ones
and Lean Cuisine, and are available in an
assortment of types and styles, including
Italian, American and Mexican foods. For
instance, a Lean Cuisine Chicken
Enchilada Suiza frozen meal comes with
chicken enchilada covered in sour cream
sauce with a side of Mexican rice and is
equal to seven Weight Watchers points. A
Weight Watchers Smart Ones Orange
Sesame Chicken meal consists of breaded
chicken tenderloins in sesame orange
sauce with a side of rice and consumes
only eight points. Throw in a banana and
a handful of raw baby carrots, and this
lunch will keep you going through the rest
of the day.
SOUP-BASED LUNCH
Put some soup in your lunch bag when
trying to stay on the Weight Watchers
weight-loss program. While low-calorie
and low-fat soups are available under
several brands, even normal selections
from several brand names can be low-
point selections that will be a good
addition to your packed lunch. The
company’s Weight Watchers-targeted line
of soups come with points price tags of
two or four points per can and is available
in a variety of flavors, including Italian-
Style Meatball with Penne and Beef Pot
Roast. Again, throw in some fruits and
veggies and you’ll be on program and on
pace with whatever demands the
workday throws at you.
LEFTOVER-BASED LUNCH
By saving a serving from last night’s
dinner, you can add leftovers to your list
of ideas for packed lunches while on the
Weight Watchers program. Weight
Watchers offers a variety of recipes
geared to help members achieve their
weight-loss goals centered on its Points
Plus program. For example, the Weight
Watchers recipe for spaghetti with turkey
meatballs makes four servings that cost
12 points per serving. Eat a serving for
dinner and then pack another along with
some fruits and veggies for lunch in the
morning.

Today for lunch i am having grilled chicken breast (i grilled it up over the weekend) with green giant veggies. If any of you live around a publix grocery, currently they have all their green giant veggies 50% off!! In addition, they have 1$ off coupons on some packages. I went head and took 10 coupons and filled my freezer up!! It was SUCH a good deal!!! As many of you may know they put the WW points on the package for the green giant!0
