Advice needed, skipped days

Hi. Hope to get some advice from the group please. I was able to finish W5 D2 last week but got outrageously busy at work and was unable to finish W5 D3 and go on to W6. Should I repeat the whole week 5 or attempt to finish W5 D3 and then go on? What would be the best thing to do to procede?

Good question. I think I would start Week 5 again because I'm new at this, it's been a week and it wouldn't hurt to repeat 2 days. It might make me stronger for Week 6 if I repeat the week.
I don't know if there is a best way of doing it. How do you feel about continuing on to D3?

Scared. I'm afraid that I won't be able to do it and then will have to start over anyway. Oh well, might as well go back to W5 D1 so I can be confident finishing Week 5.
    Thanks for responding.

I was on week 8, doing pretty good, I'm slow slow slow..probably the slowest out there. anyhow, I ended up with the flu so was out for a week. I went back and did R10mins W5 Run10 for a few days and now today, was able to jump back into week 8. It's amazing! My legs are pretty sore though but otherwise, felt great!

I'd start with where you left off -- so W5D3.

I'm approaching Couch to 5K by seeing each day as a task. I don't repeat days unless I can't finish the day -- it means it may take longer to do it, but at least I'm progressing at a pace that feel right for me. Likewise, I don't repeat chunks of a week because I haven't finished one. Once it's done, I try to finish and move on, and only go back to X day -- usually the last day of the preceding week -- if I know that I don't have it in me to do the full scheduled day, but I want to do something.

That said, I tried W5D1 on Wednesday and got halfway through before quitting.

This is what I would have done in your shoes. Early on, I repeated day 1 until I could run the full 60 seconds each time I needed to. After I did that, moving on was a breeze. Since Week Five is a "special kind of hell" I would repeat w5d2 if you only missed day 3. If you also missed W6d1 on the schedule, I'd go ahead and just restart week 5. It won't hurt, and will give you more confidence like you said!

Good Luck, and let us know how you finish up!
