Hi Everyone,
As just being released from the hospital with sugar at 466, I'm glad I found this group. I was lucky with this wake up call. Docs couldn't believe my A1c was on 10 for not taking insulin for two years. Kidney and ketones were all below that of someone without diabetes. Now I'm going to take my luck and make sure I put my health first.
It was my fault as I hadn't been taking care of myself as I should. I feel now with MFP and this support group I am on the right road. I was given an insulin infusion and a new insulin NPH, this med has been working way better than the lantus and novolog I was on. Went from 80 units of lantis down to 40 NPH and have never had sugars so good. Counting carbs and tracking in MFP for everything. Only been 3 days but celebrating each day with baby steps.
Hope to lean and share from you all.

I'm glad that you have joined the group. I'm sure that many will eventually stop by and welcome you. I've learned so much from the people within this group and I believe it has and is helping me to manage my numbers better.
I'm glad that your new meds are working well for you and hopefully will continue to steer you into a positive direction of bg control.
Please sure to make friends and send emails....these guys do take the time to listen and to answer.

Skeeze1970... Welcome to the group and glad the hospital was able to get your numbers down. This group has been a terrfic help for me and I know they will be able to help you too.. Question; how long have you been diagnosed and was your diagnosis of type 1 or type 2.0
