Improving, normal TSH but sudden high blood pressure????

Hello all,
I'm in a bit of a quandary. I recently started Nature-throid about 8 weeks ago and since starting to take the medication I've had a lot more energy, my heart palpitations have quieted, my mood is better, there have just been a ton of improvements. My TSH has gone down from 2.55 to 1.5.
However, my blood pressure has absolutely skyrocketed lately. It was high before I started getting treated, which I think was due to my birth control (which is Kariva, btw). I had never had problems with birth control before but developed ringing in my ears a couple months after taking it, which looking back on it now was probably a symptom of high blood pressure.
So I cut out the BC and have switched to the lowest dose BC you can take, and cut back on my Nature-throid dose without telling my doctor. The ringing in my ears has quieted and my blood pressure is finally in the 120's/80's again.
Here is the question. Have any of you experienced an INCREASE in blood pressure that you thought was due ONLY to your thyroid meds and did it ever go away? Knowing how hard high blood pressure is on your body, I'm having a really hard time motivating myself to go back on the meds. But I know I have to to keep my TSH at the right level.
You all are such a wonderful community, I was hoping that someone might have some expertise and experience on this one! Thank you!

I think I saw this topic on stopthethyroidmadness.com go there & put high blood pressure in the search option, should find some answers there.
I have adrenal fatigue, and when I first started being treated for it, my Naturopath put me on a really high dose of licorice root & natural adrenal. THAT gave me really high blood pressure (& edema) for the fist time in my life! It was dangerously high. Took me a while to figure it out & it went back to normal a few weeks after stopping the licorice root.
You probably should talk to your Dr. about what's causing it, they do have a lot of knowledge in these things. I would not think that the natural thyroid would cause it. But check out the site & see. They have so many answers there.
I hope you find relief from it soon, its no fun! :flowerforyou:

It's possible that your dose was a bit too high and you went hyper for a little bit; or that your dose increase was a little "too much too soon".
But I know I have to to keep my TSH at the right level.
TSH is a pituitary hormone, not a thyroid hormone. Once you're supplementing with thyroid meds it really doesn't matter where your TSH is at.
Your doctor should be testing free T3 and free T4 to set your dosage, as these are your actual thyroid hormones.0
