So Ive been primal since the begging of last summer and as of a few months ago, I had reached my goal weight of 115lbs (Im almost 5ft...on a good day lol). Then a few months ago I decided I wanted to get some abs going. It has been a bit frustrating, I lift heavy and eat primal 90%+ of the time, and was still not seeing much body fat movement. Then I decided it was time to bring out the big guns...I cut out dairy and most booze and quit eating so much fruit about two weeks ago. The result? I've lost 8lbs in that time! I still eat when I get hungry until I am full its been amazingly satisfying! I thought I'd miss the booze and fruit, but I dont really, I still have a glass of wine from time to time instead of 1-2 every day, and a piece of fruit a day instead of three, and its enough. The cheese is completely gone though, and after quitting I realize it had been giving me belly troubles, I definitely don't miss it now! All I can say is Im that much closer to my goal and I am loving this!

Alright that is awesome!!! Way to go!!!
I am not a big fruit person anyway (except cherries and blueberries, which is still kind of rare). But the booze is my problem!!! I try to stay away from beer even though I love it, but I just absolutely love having a glass of wine (or three) in the evening while cooking dinner and then afterwards. I do try to keep the dairy to a minimum axcept for a little cheese every now and then.... and half and half in my coffee.
I figured I would do like you. Do the best I can for now and then cut the booze out when I finally stall!!! LOL.... :laugh:0 -
Congrats! Do what works for you!0

I'm already booze free and not much fruit. But I think I'm going to have to cut the cheese soon too (ha ha).0

I dropped about 16 pounds switching to Paleo 100% (or 99.9%) for a month. It's not realistic for me to be 100% Paleo/primal, as my husband isn't on board, but it was definitely eye-opening! I try to be as gluten/wheat/dairy-free as possible. I gained a little back when I started re-introducing some foods, but now that I'm on MFP and trying to make sure I have a calorie deficit every day, I've lost that and then some.
I guess you have to do what works for you. But I'm excited to have found this group for encouragement/ ideas!0
