I'll jump in first. I stared WW in Feb of '12. I was at the highest weight I had ever been (270). It had gotten to the point that I could not enjoy vacations with my family due to my weight. No zip lines, horseback riding, para-sailing. I was fed up with being on the sidelines. My wife also decided she would like to lose a bit and this way we could include the entire family. My oldest joined to help her get into shape for summer.
Since this is supposed to be about men  I'll just stick to me.
Doing WW, at first I actually GAINED weight! I went up almost 5 lbs. What I soon discovered is that I was eating all my DP, WP, and AP cause I thought I had too. Wrong. I decided to drop my DP by 10 and try not to go into WP and AP. The pounds started to come off AND I wasn't hungry! I hit a few plateaus but they lasted only a few weeks but then down they went. I am averaging 1.2lbs /week.
Today I am 209. My goal weight, according to WW is 185. Really. I hadn't been 185 since HS.
I am here to try something different. I have been in the 210 range now for nearly 3 months. Time to mix it up. I am here looking to get and give support. I am also interested in tracking more than points. I think my diet is off but since I didn't track it in detail I can't see where. My first weeks here have already shown that I consume WAY to much protein (double what is recommended). No big muscles here (yet) demanding that kind of food.
So, my goal here is to break down my diet and exercise a bit more to see how I can tweak it. Maybe meet a few new 'friends' on the way.0 -

Wow That's awesome from 279 to 209 hi 5 you. See Charles did it and he's a man. That's interesting you mention you were consuming too much protein were there any benefits from the consumption of it?0
