Stupid question. Is you start weight from today so you can see your progress up to 40-50lbs or your start weight from beginning your new life journey?
Either one....whatever you feel comfortable putting down. I did mine from my starting weight (heaviest....which isn't far off from where I am now), but some people like to put their current weight as their starting weight.0 -

I originally joined MFP in March 2011, lost 35 pounds by mid July. I remember a day that June or July when I took my son to the pool and caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and thought, Wow - when did THAT happen. That was truly the first time I could physically see a difference in the mirror. Then went through a very stressful time and changed jobs twice over the next 6 months. Fell into old habits including drinking Mountain Dew, not paying attention to portion sizes, and quit going to the gym. My clothes don't fit correctly anymore and I REFUSE to buy any more until I need smaller sizes. This is my year to make it happen, and finally get to my goal weight!!!0 -

Been working at it since May 2012, in the gym and in the kitchen, but really need to make a bigger push at better eating habits now. Also learned I have hypothyroid during this time, and started medication, but I'm not convinced that it's making enough of a difference.0 -

Hi everyone! I am a week late to the party, but I hope that's okay. I am starting to get my motivation back, but could always use some more support!
Quick background, I have always been the funny chubby girl growing up. My highest weight was in college when I ate what I wanted, didn't exercise or care. Ironically, my lowest weight was my first trimester with my first child (couldn't keep anything down). So I have essentially dropped 60 pounds and have kept it off for 6 years; but I want to get down to the 160/170s.
I know I'll never be skinny and I'm okay with that. If I can get my mii to tell me I'm overweight instead of obese, I will be happy.
