Results from StrongLifts? 5x5 c:

YUP. I know that i see a lot of people jumping on the SL wagon now, and I was wondering if I could see results from it? Just a picture from where you came from to where you are now, you know? I'm 199 and a size 14. I just want to be a size 8. So this can be a picture thread. Where you started, where you are now, and how long it took c:

I think Lorina might be the only one who has logged her heavy lifting in pics, most of us seem to shy away from the camera...I know I am a lot stronger and my muscles are bigger, my clothes are getting looser some places (waist), tighter in the legs and butt though...recently, my back seems to be growing too, as my bra straps all seem too tight...eeeek! Time to lose some more fat methinks (even though it is not fat that is making it tight, it is the larger back muscles doing it) Cup size has shrunk, back size has grown.

My bras fit quite awkwardly now, too! I also keep losing nicely off my waist and even thighs.

I have been losing from my waist (2 inches) and I think I am starting to gain in the lat/back/delt area. When I was trying on a cardigan at the mall the other day, awaiting for husband's approval - he stated that it looked fine, but my back muscles were really obvious in it. I took that as a compliment. Also, my delts and tris were the first thing to really pop. When I am at the mall trying on sweaters and stuff, I am always shocked when I see myself in a tank top in a not at home mirror. It looks totally different and I check myself out, lol. Oh, and my butt is perking up.
I haven't taken any more progress pics for a while, as I sucked at staying on track during December.

I like to *kitten* this pic out:

YAY! Well mine (my boyfriend) commented negatively, as in my back muscles are too big...wha?! Because I do not take piccies and am mirror shy maybe I don't see what others see? I doubt they are too big, cos I am still sitting between 25 and 26 % bodyfat. Anyway I am happy with the way I look and feel in general, and that is what is important.

You are right - as long as you are happy with how you look, nothing else matters

I don't have pictures kassie, but I'm a size 8 now, at 165 (ok, I *was* a size 8, but I gained 5 lbs over the holiday so I'm kinda muffin topping badly right now) and 5'6". Sometimes I wear a 10 if its cut in a way that doesn't accommodate my remaining fat zone (my belly) but otherwise I'm consistently an 8 in anything I try, other than maybe in stores for teenagers like H&M and Forever 21 where nothing fits right anyway.

But anyway I got from wearing a small 12 large 10 at 171 or so to wearing an 8 at 165 doing stronglifts (and then Wendler 5/3/1 when I was ready for an intermediate program).

    Thanks everyone (:
i guess i should see a difference in a couple weeks. I still have fat rolls and crap which I'm trying to shrink.

since you've lost 50 lbs in a year, some of those 'rolls' might be partially loose skin - which DOES get better, but it takes a while. Sometimes I have gotten visual improvement due to skin tightening up even without losing any weight on the scale.

Be really consistent with your lifting for 6 months. I promise you will see improvement.

Thank so much (: I tend to stay away from the scale and go by how my clothes fit. Consistency is hard, but key, I suppose.
  • I am so freaking inspired right now, awesome before/after. My delts always pop right away, too. Love it!
