Happy Sunday! I started on here several months ago and was highly motivated in the beginning. I have lost almost 30 pounds since June and I feel pretty good about it. I plateaued in September and haven't been as motivated since. I am looking to find a few friends on here that are similar to my situation. Just need some friends to help keep me on the straight and narrow with my calories and workouts. Anyone up for being an accountability partner??????

30 pounds is awesome! I will gladly be your accountability partner. I’m looking to lose 75 pounds, but am excited about the journey I am about to take.0

Hi.I am Rob. Similar story here. Started last summer, lost 22 pounds but kinda plateaued. I had lost 50 poumds on my own before I found MFP. Everyone kept saying do more cardio. I did, 5 days a week. I built more muscle in my legs but not much weightloss still. Then my trainer said why don't you just cut the calories by 300 a day and see what happens. It worked and the weight began coming off each week and funny thing is I did not even miss those 300 calories. Every one has to start somewhere and you have started. Great job! Ill be your accountability partner too. My goal this year is 10 pounds per month which is 120 for the year and 2.5 pounds per week. Rob/Jacksonville, Florida0

Hey it's great to have accountability. I just added you as a friend. I'll do what I can. If these other guys want to they can friend me.
I've gone to gym for years and kept down my weight but not much else to show for it. A year ago I decided to get serious and I lost about 10 lbs. and I'm trying to bring down body fat and bulk up which isn't hat easy after 60. I finally decided to see if there were others on MFP that are in similar situation and if encouragement makes a difference.

Hey guys. I just saw this thread, but I wish I had seen it a month ago when I started getting serious again! It sounds like a lot of of have similar stories. I think seeing other people logging each day is a huge help. I'd be happy if anyone would add me to their list. Thanks!0

I've only been on MFP for a few months, but I've lost close to 25 lbs since Dec 2011 (265lbs and now 239lbs). I still have 39 to go and could use a kick every now and then as well. I can give as good as I get so if anyone needs a good kick every now and then, just friend me.0

Ahhh... Finally found a place for guys. Been sifting through threads full of the women since I started a few weeks ago. I've been linking my Fitbit with MFP and so far it seems great. Looking to lose about 30lbs to improve my running and baseball. The biggest challenge is my wife is due with our second child in the next week. Here's to staying on track as much as possible.

I've been up and down and up and down multiple times and I need to stick with healthy habits. I want to make this the year. I've had this MFP account for over a year now, but have only really started using it this month. I'd love some mutual accountability.0

Hey all. I'm hoping I found the active thread. Actually a little quiet in here. I posted my intro in it's own thread, but looks like this is the active thread. I definitely have determination. These first two weeks, I'm losing weight at a good pace, so I also have momentum.
As I said, I don't lack determination. I will drop the weight. My current plan is to go from 247 lbs (on Jan 7th) to 230 by Feb 1 and ~200 lbs by the forth of July..... Independence Day!
I used an on-line forum for support when I quit smoking and it really helped. Like the others, I can use the accountability.0 -
Heh everyone. Fairly new to MFP, loving it. Have a long ways to go. I've been adding some friends here and there, mainly guys in their 200's looking to break into the 100's. Joining a group may be an easier way.
I've been focusing on just lowering my weight a little and settling into eating healthier... really focused on adding a lot of fruit and veggies to the diet. Gotta cut out the pizza... it's a killer for me. Hope to start lifting again for the first time in 20 years soon. We'll see.
Add me as a friend if you'd like to follow. Have an open diary and profile. Good luck to all!0 -

I have found that adding friends and using your own feed to converse seems to be a bit more lively. Feel free to add me if you would like!0 -
Hi all. Great energy here - I'm very impressed. Looking for a few friend connections for mutual accountability as I / we make this the year we achieve our weight loss and fitness improvement goals. Like a lot of guys here, I am a busy professional, long commute, travel a lot, and find it hard to be as fit as I need to be. Also, I've been struggling with weight all my life - I think its a metabolism thing almost as much as eating too much. Now I'm 265 lbs when I feel I should be about 190 - and would be damn happy with 200. I've seen the recent research that having mutual connections to whom you report progress and maintain accountability is a big help. I'd ideally like to connect with guys in similar situation as mine - 40 or 50 something, aiming to lose 40+ lbs, busy professional, committed to both eating healthy and exercising regularly and wanting a regular - daily or every-other-day - quick check in on progress to help us stay on track. If that makes sense to you, send a Friend invitation and let's connect. I probably can commit to keeping up with at most 3-4 MFP friends - I have a really busy life and I am determined to be consistent with this - so if I "decline" it's because I don't want to overcommit.0
