I am currently resetting my metabolism but my reset process will be over soon, I am still confused about somethings with this whole program. Here are some of the questions I would like answered
1.) Will this on;ly work if you eat clean?
2.) Is this program only for people who want to "bulk" up
3.) When you started the program after the metabolism reset did you lose the first week? If so how much?

1. It helps, but not a requirement
2. You will not 'bulk' up if you are eating at a deficit.
3. Cannot answer since I have not had to reset.0 -

First question no clean eating isn't required but wouldn't hurt either.
Second you won't bulk up on a deficit you'll lose fat. Fat loss is much greater than scale weight because muscle burn fat in also is the main factor in your metabolism more muscle higher metabolism.
Third haven't done a full reset but i have lost even without the reset. As long as you create a deficit that is small from tdee lift heavy combine with hiit youll lose fat and it will level your weight.0 -
2.) Is this program only for people who want to "bulk" up
To answer this question, in short no. It totally depends on your goals.
However (in long!), many of us following this plan have ended up here because we have damaged our bodies in the past due to extreme dieting, yo-yoing and VLCDs.
There are two important problems (as well as many others) that can arise from long term (ab)use of very low cal diets:
1) damage to metabolism
2) loss of lean body mass
The metabolism reset is aimed at reversing the damage in point 1.
Some of us are now at the stage where we've got our metabolisms working properly again, are starting to get in a good weight range but have come to the realisation that muscle gain is needed to really get the body we desire. From personal experience, I am in a 'healthy' weight range but I am still 'over fat' because my LBM is lower than is should be. So now I'm in the position where I want to be building some muscle. So this is why there is a lot of talk of 'bulking' on this forum. But this is not to say that the EM2WL plan per se is just aimed at people who want to bulk.0 -

Since it appears votes are being tallied.
1 - No, but at least 80 / 20 split clean / unclean - whatever that may mean to you.
2 - No, taking a reasonable deficit with more protein is always a better idea. Can help retain muscle even if no lifting.
3 - Just like everyone that starts a diet, and that's basically what happens the first week after a reset, you'll get water weight lost, many seem to report the good 'ole traditional 3-5 lbs. Though since eating better during reset, may not have excessive sodium issues that cause a big loss.0
