The book Racing Weight

I am seeing if anyone has read the book and what their thoughts are. Especially, on the daily carbohydrate intake for athletes.
Mine is suggested to be around 438 grams a day considering the training I am doing right now. pg.119

I am reading the updated version of this book right now.It is more tailored for endurance athletes. I really do not folllow a specific set of nutritional ideals (eg. diet plan, paleo) but really do what this book says. It gives you an outline on how to improve the quality as well as some baselines for nutrient timing and soforth. It has been a wonderful read and has actually given me some great ideas to refine my nutritional plan to to help me improve my performance even further. I will also say this has been an especially good read in the off season since I find it very hard to curtain my eating at all under a full training load.

I like the book. I think for the most part its recommendations are directed at Ectomorphs which is your typical body type for an endurance athlete. For those of us that don’t fall into that category I like the skeleton Fitzgerald lays out in the book. I’d adhere to the recommendations for the pre/intra/post training periods and then tinker with the macros for the rest of the day.
