Hi Lizzie,
Where did you get the information to eat only 700- 1000 a day? Even MFP's lowest setting is 1200, anything below that is not healthy and counter productive to weight loss (at least in the long term). Also if you don't have very much to loose (I only just learnt this a couple months ago) it is actually better to eat at a smaller deficit and take your time loosing weight so that it stays off rather than causing you to yoyo diet.
I am only able to say this because I have been there myself. In order to explain this, let me tell you about my journey:
I was eating 1200 calories for aages (and tried it twice) and lost a bit of weight but then would always get stuck about 5 kilos from my goal. Since reading these forums and doing some research I realised I was starving myself and slowing my metabolism down so that I was holding on to fat rather than loosing it. I learned that my BMR (amount I needed to eat just to survive- keep organs etc working during rest/deep sleep) was 1450, this is the BARE minimum I need to eat whilst trying to loose weight. I also learned that based on my average daily activity and excercie, I burn about 2200 a day ( TDEE). This is the amount I need to eat to maintain my current weight. The safe way to loose weight is to eat at a 15% to 20% deficit to this figure.Thats actually a total of 1760!
I was shocked to, but seeing as I wasn't losing anyway I decided to start eating more. I was planning to do it gradually, but then over Christmas I let loose and ate about 1600 calories on average a day, and guess what?? I lost half a kilo! (and if you have a read of all the other success stories on this forum you will hear similar stories) I have since then (in three weeks) lost another half a kilo. So thats a kilo (4 pounds) I've lost by EATING MORE! IT WORKS!!!
I would highly recommend you do some more reading of the other posts in this forum and other MFP forums. There is a lot of information out there on this. I used the amazing excel spreadsheet created by Heybales to calculate my BMR etc. (I can't remember where I found it though now- SORRY!!) But there are heaps out there on the web if you have a look. Also this thread explains a lot of what I have just said but in more detail:

Hope this helps!0 -

Hey,
I have to say 700-1000 calories a day, thats just way too low.. most of us were in the same boat though (I know I would net that on days back when)..
I would say definitely eat whatever you want on your holiday, you can run your numbers on this website to see how much you should be eating

Ya know if that is your picture, with your age and if your active at all, your probably looking at 1800 calories (or more).. you don't really look like you have much to lose so you may want to think about what your goals are and form a plan around that0
