I started Paleo 4 1/2 months ago and I rarely cheat! My entire family is paleo, so there aren't that many temptations! Over the weekend, I cheated with Pizza at a party (cake and icecream, too :/ ). Honestly, I just wanted to see how it affected me! I SO REGRET it!!! My joints, from my fingers to my toes, are so sore! It's been two days and I am still in a lot of pain! I feel just like I did before going paleo!!!

So, what can I eat to help with this joint pain or just speed up the healing process faster! I don't even really like to cheat & now I know why!! Ouch.... :(

Its amazing how now since eating well is a priority, when you have a slip your body tells you 'Hey, you are an the right path!! See...SEE!!! how you feel!!??" Crazy!!
I had the same experience ate a bunch of bread and my hands ached for two days in the joints, like I had artheritis!!
Dont be too down..just keep going forward! And drink LOTS of water =)
  • My DH and I are just awe-strucked at how sensitive we are to that crap!! Yeah, my body has been yelling at me for the last couple of days! LOL!! Thanks for the input! Gonna go get some more water! :)

Water should definitely help =) You could also try eating some extra bright colored veggies, they help get rid of toxins =)

I'm not sure if this is common, but I found that the first couple of times I ate something with gluten I had a really strong reaction... several days in the bathroom.

But since, it has become more mild again. I still don't eat gluten very often, but if I do choose to enjoy something I get belly grumbles but nothing as fierce as those first few times.

My husband thinks it's all in my head, but I find kombucha after getting gluten-ed helps me get back to normal more quickly. Lots of water, too!
