Day 41 - Self-Confidence Can't Be Bought

Good Morning Everyone!!

Well, it went well yesterday out in the marketing world!! I go again today , tomorrow, & Thursday. I will be happy to have it all done!! Espeially because the weather is so cold out right now. I think the high yesterday was 20 degrees.

I checked the weigh-in sheet and it looks like our "regulars" anyway have put their weights in. Most everyone is doing better!! Congratulations on that!!

Even if I don't comment on your replies...I am reading them and always enjoy reading what you have to say. jbnl1991 had a question on the figures for her goal BF% and lean muscle. I haven't had the time to address that. Maybe some of our fellow friends here could give her your input. It was great seeing hers and spacecurly calculations!

TOPIC

"Why Self-Confidence Can't Be Bought but Can Be Borrowed"

"I was thought to be "stuck up". I wasn't. I was just sure of myself. This is and always has been an unforgettable quality to the unsure." Bette Davis

"It would be wonderful if we could simply waltz up to a cosmetic counter and purchase a bottle of self-condence the way we can buy "revitalizing" or "performance" creams for our faces. Unfotunately this spiritual elixie, like an expensive perfume, is different on every woman because of individual chemistry."

"When I was younger, my self-confidence potion was heavily scented with attitude, optimism, and faith, experience, knowledge, and wisdom had to come later. But even today, every new opportunity or challenge requires that I prepare a special batch of moxie for myself. I do this by becoming as thoroughly prepared as possible and by looking the part---wearing an outfit, for example, that exudes self-condifence even when it's hanging in the closet. Next I say my prayers and ask for the Power to be switched on. Then "its showtime." I act as if I'm self-confident and the world takes me as such."

"When you're unaware of yourself but life requires you to be otherwise, it is comforting to remember that you can always borrow a self-confident attitude from your authentic self. She knows how terrific you are and can give you that little boost, which is all you really need. Our subconscious mind cannot distinguish between what's real and what's imaginary (which is why creative visualization works). If we act as if we're confident, we become such. Atleast for a little while. "You must do the thing you think you cannot do," Eleanor Roosevelt once observed, and her life was spent proving so. At least for a little while. When life challenges arise, you can surmount them by calling on the Spirit and borrowing the scent of self-confidence from your authentic self." Sarah Ban Breathnach

"You can out distance that which is running after you, but not what is running inside you." Rwandan Proverb

Have a great day!!

I like this post! There use to be a time in my life where I had all the confidence in the world, I was out going, goofy, and I loved attention. Ever since I had my kids I have lost that confidence. Even when we are in a social setting its like I can't even have a whole conversation with some one.

I am slowly finding myself again and I like it. I want my daughters to grow up confident and believe in themselves and I don't know if thats possible if I am walking around feeling crappy about myself.

Somehow there comes something to mind I read on twitter from people who I never thought needed to pretend that kind of thing.
It says "Fake it 'til you make it"

Kind of makes me wonder if they maybe sit in the same boat like everyone else, even though they are on stage every night, look simply stunning and are successfull!
