Keto forum

Some of you may remember me as a former mod of /r/keto?

Well, I've modded other forums in the past and I prefer the format of forums as it allows for more organization of information. And frankly I was bored one day and kinda missed the ability to talk about keto-related info all the time, so I created keto.boards.net

Feel free to check it out, become a member, and/or make a post! I'm hoping we can eventually create a helpful and supportive keto community. :)

Very cool, bookmarked to register later!

I am pretty ****ing disappointed in the /r/keto community and the way you were treated. Disgusted would be a better word, for that one idiot who was infatuated with you and your posting history. I can't speak for epaka, because he only fueled the fire, but you and martinus were both very reasonable and open to talk about the changes, and neither of you deserved the flak you got. You were also the only mod that wasn't part of the massive ketochat circlejerk. It's a big loss to the community that should have been avoided by all sides in the matter. Glad to see you are still around here though. :)

Totally agree with you, that whole debacle was simply embarrassing to read and I'm sorry you had to go through that :-/ Happy to still everyone on MFP though :) Thanks for opening those boards! Even though I've dropped keto for the time being, it's still great to be involved with the community

yeah the whole experience REALLY sucked, so thanks to you guys for being supportive.

i put a lot of time into that subreddit because i genuinely enjoyed giving advice and seeing others progress. now that's it's gone i miss the community a lot. going back to reddit just isn't an option though, so i'm really hoping this forum can take off once the user base grows a bit.

i know the forum kinda sucks now because no one is really posting, but i really appreciate those of you who have joined and/or are giving it a chance. it just sucks that i'm kinda "competing" with /r/keto for members, and lots of people are so heavily invested in reddit in the first place. but i hope i'm not the only one who prefers the ability to organize information in a forum-style community, and it will cut down on repetition and will give us the ability to condense certain topics into their own designated areas (progress pics, food porn, etc.).

and if anyone has an idea for where to promote the forum, i'm all ears. unfortunately it would be in bad taste to promote it in /r/keto :P

I joined r/Keto the day all the **** went down, I think, so I missed everything that the old sub used to be. I got some of the gist of what happened, and they pretty much took everything that made that sub what it was away from my understanding. I joined r/theketodiet because it seems to have a lot of the original things from r/keto there, like the recipes, the before/afters, and general progress. It seems like a nice place.

I'm on day 2 of this Keto thing, so I'm still pretty new, but so far so good. The people that I've met on the r/ketodiet sub have been very informative, and you all seem like cool people, so I will jump on into this group, and check out your community. Plus, Reddit is blocked at my office, so hopefully I can still utilize you guys :D

I think posting in all the keto subreddits would garner you support. I didn't know about this forum until I posted to r/xxketo as a rant and had someone suggest to join this forum.

I've never been super fond of my experiences on r/keto itself, and am glad to know I don't always have to sign onto reddit to be able to talk to a bunch of amazing individuals.

If you're still planning on avoiding reddit, I've got no issues posting on your behalf.

I am new to keto (I started on the clichéd but easy to remember date of January 1st) but had lurked in most of the keto-related subreddits for months. I think with the influx of so many new subscribers at the beginning of the year there was a genuine feeling of trying to clean up the /r/keto subreddit and make it more helpful to those just starting out.

This, in my opinion, horribly back-fired and the unwillingness to bend or compromise caused a schism in the keto community.

Ultimately, I think this worked out to be an incredibly good thing. I unsubscribed from /r/keto as bit of a weak protest but will still occasionally lurk. With the shear amount of users in the subreddit, there is still a lot of good information to be gleaned from it for a beginner.

I enjoy that /r/theketodiet and /r/xxketo have comparability far less users but enough to keep them active. When I lurk, I see the same names over and over again. I can follow people as they progress and see what roadblocks they run into. It's like a keto soap opera!

Even after the debacle, I'm glad I decided to seek out the reddit keto community here. Seeing ladysixstring here made me happy and excited enough to post something for once. Keep doin' what you're doin', ladysixstring. Know that you are inspiring and helping many people even if we don't expressly say it. Selfishly, I hope one day you do come back to reddit (obviously not /r/keto) but completely understand if you do not.

    I'll definitely check out keto.boards.net.

I am glad I missed the drama. Stuff like that is never fun.

I wont be posting anymore on r/keto. I am not a fan of sites where people can be banned for no reason.

I have had my account for a year. Mostly to read. Never really comment. I finally have a need to comment, so I did. I asked a question and then I replied to those that answered me. I have commented on a few others posts, but not a whole lot. There are people there who outnumber my posts by hundreds.

Yesterday I logged in only to find out I could no longer post because I was banned. I have NO idea why. I read the FAQ and didn't see anything in regards to what they would ban me for other than they just dont like me. I can read and save, just no commenting.

I sub to r/theketodiet but now I am afraid of talking to anyone there.
