Week 1

So today was the last day of my first week on Paleo/Primal eating and I have to say I really loved it.

I didn't feel like I was eating far less than normal because everything I ate was SOOO filling, I feel healthy and love that. I tried not to over exert myself on exercise just so I could focus on eating for the most part. I did walk though just because I felt motivated to do so and I actually had the energy.

This week I'm going to add in 3 days of Body Weight Strength Training from NerdFitness and I'm excited to do so. I'm trying to take this process slow, figure things out and see what works for me. Even though my boyfriend and I said we were going to try this for 30 days I believe I'm already wanting to actually make changes in my life beyond just the food portion of the lifestyle. I like this free feeling!

On a side note would anyone be willing to just glance through my food diary for the week? I believe we have been eating mostly Primal, I just want to make sure I'm doing this right because i'm not used to having such low calories and being so full all day long. I never once felt over hungry at any point.

I think your diary looks damned good. Great job.

If you need to increase cals, you can add some fat on your veggies, like ghee or a paleo dressing, olive oil-based dressing, etc.

Thanks :) For most of the food that includes the sausage I have been just using the sausage grease to cook the veggies in. I'm not sure how to count that, actually I didn't even think about it and didn't even look, but I'll check into it next time! Thanks for the tips though!

As an update I did lose 5.6lb this week quite happy about that :) It put me over (again, I gained some weight over the last year) my 100# lost from my heighest weight 11 years ago that I told myself I'd NEVER go back up to again. I know that's a long time but I like to remind myself how far I have come. I'm in new territory now!

Hey, alright! The second decent diary I've seen today. Well done!

The only thing I'd do is try and bump up the fat just a bit. But even I fail this pretty often.

    I think you're doing a great job.

Haha thanks, my dog is so weird but i agree adorable :D

John: Thanks for saying that about my diary made my day! Yea I realize I'm low on fat but unsure how to add more. I was using fat from the sausage I cooked to cook the veg (on days we had breakfast sausages) but never tracked it, so I figure that it had to add some fat in there. Other than that I'm unsure where to add more since I'm just not hungry for anything else. We aren't buying low-fat anything and when eating meat aren't trimming it down. I guess I could use butter instead of eating veggies plain that would add a little bit but not a lot. I'll have to do some searching online :)

Yeah, that sounds pretty good. I've gotten used to downing a can of coconut milk now and again. Past that, I try to work in some avocados and buy the fattier fish when I pick that up.

It's nothing to sweat about, but a good thing to shoot for somewhere in the back of your mind.
