Hi all! I just joined this group yesterday, I hope you don't mind. I also just started trying weight watchers on Monday. My question is, how do you keep the points low? Is it to eat high fiber foods, high protein, low fat? What is it?

    Welcome to the group!

I notice that when I eat a lot of veggies my calories and points tend to be lower and I don't feel like I'm struggling to keep my count low. It occurs almost without effort when I focus my meals around veggies. Think in terms of veggies with a protein serving and perhaps a very small serving of a carb based food. This seems to work for me. I also tend to have soup during the week, especially at lunch. Soups may run at about 3-4 points or less ranging in about 100-250 calories depending on how much I serve myself. (PS: the points I use are Momentum. I don't know about PointsPlus)

    Have you tried mashed cauliflower?

The motto of my post? Veggies are my friend!

Thanks for the info! I have heard about mashed cauliflower but haven't tried it yet. I keep meaning to but never got around to it.

    WELCOME,

WW emphasizes on high fiber and low fat...The higher the fiber the lower the points are going to be. Even with Points Plus it works this way. Also, servings of veges are usually on the free list as well as water based fruits.

So I guess Fiber One products can be a good fit for the WW program?
